Thanks for that Giantroo......further to that,.....does that mean they go down a pick or two....apologies I've taken no notice of the points system....
Yes.

Each pick has a points value. Pick 1 (3000), etc . For Pick 1 you must have the full allocation of points (3000) to keep the pick even though you may have enough to cover pick 2 (2,517).

From there, you just minus the point deficit (265) and you get the table I've posted.

So the sum of Brady's pick trading last year was:

In:
9 (will be 12 imo.)
25
34 (Mahony)
35 (Perez)

Out:
8 (Serong)
21
73

Still a bit of shuffling to do with free agent compensation and draft day bidding, but that's looking like a huge win for us.

Forget the pick numbers for a second, that's two "early round" players out, four in.

That is a year's "early round" draft picks created out of nothing.

Two top 10 picks, must be a first for us
Nah, it's happened twice before:
2000 pick 6 (Dylan Smith) and 8 (Daniel Motlop)
2002 pick 2 (Daniel Wells) and pick 9 (Hamish McIntosh)

We totally stuffed up in 2000 (only about 50 games from those 2), and got probably the best result possible in 2002 (about 350 games, 2 club championships, etc...).

the year we learned just because they were named Captain did not mean they were the best ;)

Melbourne's 2019 pick 10 became 12 with the academy bids as well. Ours will shift with the bids and compo picks.
Our Pick 9 will technically become 10? Isnt it only the Dogs who will have their pick shifted ahead of ours?

2019 trades period - WE WON

Trade with Melbourne - Big Win to us

Trade with Essendon - win

Trade with Dawks - Loss (unless Charlie Comben becomes a superstar, well plays 100 quality games)

Trade with Giants - Meh

Can you run this again with the pick we're likely to end up with on draft night due to slippage?

9 will go to 11 for sure with dogs and Sydney, and could even go to 12 or 13 IF crouch and Cameron/ Williams net band 1.

Really the only way we are going to know if we one the trade is if we know exactly who we where going to draft last year wait 10 years or so and compare him with who we pick this year.

I don't think that matters, they are just picks that are used for players available to one club before all others, oh I hope we bid our first on Campbell, and than take a bloke we would have had with pick 2 anyway.
