List Mgmt. 2020 Draft and Delistings

It’s almost guaranteed that a few clubs will pick up stars in the SSP and MSD. So much talent will have fallen through the cracks this year. This is where recruiters make their name.

Hope we get some promising types train with us like Lockhart did.

"Adelaide had been trying to engineer a pre-draft trade with the Demons – pick 18 and 28 for 22 and 23 – but Melbourne stuck at its spot and took Jake Bowey and Laurie."

"Laurie had become something of an 'it' player at this stage of the draft. Had the Crows moved up the board, they would have selected him ahead of the Demons."

"The final selection of the first round came down to St Kilda, another club who had Laurie in their sights."

Interesting. Just from the limited vision I've seen of both I'd have thought Bowey would be the far more popular out of he and Laurie.

Recruiters obviously seen a !of more of them than me though. Good signs that Laurie was popular amongst a few clubs all the same.

Yep Melk and AVB were liability’s last season, combined they would be lucky to have 3 good games to their name since the end of 2018

We clearly aren’t though. We’re desperate for high IQ and highly skilled players around the wings and HFF. Whether they’re random kids or not is irrelevant when they don’t exist on the list currently.

I think you might've gotten a little confused, we had picks 18 and 28, Adelaide had 22 and 23, these picks looked different at the end of the night because of picks sliding back due to academy bids. Nevertheless sounds like neither of Laurie or Bowey would've been there at 22 and 23 anyway as the Giants and Saints were keen on both.

Interesting that there was a real focus on blokes that "love footy"

Probably been burned by too many talented but ultimately not 100% dedicated types - Hogan, Watts etc

I like that they backed themselves to pick up Rosman as a more speculative type that could "explode" rather than the safe bet in Jack Carroll. Jackson was a similar pick based on potential rather than production, will be interesting to see how they go over the next 5 years versus the safe bets (Young, Ash, Serong from Jackson's draft).
