Guess we're (maybe) waiting for some more analysis and the spp/mid season draft. Hopefully some good ruck, pure inside mid and (imo) key back stocks with exposed form to pick from.

Preseason draft has come and gone. We are running two rookies short, could look at the SSP period maybe.

We can have him train with us and we can offer him a spot during the supplementary period before the start of next season I believe? We can put Naismith on the LTIL to achieve this if we don’t have the list spot available.

The bloke we drafted is the perfect rookie pick, he's a utility anyway so exactly how isn't that a position we need? Can play anywhere by definition.
What position did you want? There are plenty of mids next season, and we didn't need a ruck!

I think we are just giving up on ruckmen in general, like a divorced father who has just given up on ever finding love again.

Bingo, and that will happen you'd assume. I'd want to see him train first before wasting a list spot.
If the Academy had looked after that 18s year group properly he and perhaps a couple of others would have been picked up last year.

Thought so, and we can have him train all summer and make a call.
Based on our history of rookie vs main draft outcomes, Malachy will become a 6-time All Australian, whilst McD will be traded to Carlton for a third round pick at the end of 2024.

Running with 2 less spots, gives us options too whether that be a DFA before the season or the mid season draft.
Annoyed we didn't gamble on Baldwin though would have been a perfect throw at the stumps.
I think we would love access to the midseason draft in 2021 as there are going to be some steals there since every Victorian bolter who wasn't able to show their improvement in 2020 will be available. Imagine picking up Clayton Oliver in the midseason draft.
