So here is Treloar's smart plot.
Treloar and SUNS actually made a secret deal. Meanwhile they publicly drive the negotiating power of Collingwood to virtually nothing. At the end of trade period Collingwod will be happy to off-load Treloar for about anything. Collingwood pays 300K per year for the length of the contract. SUNS keep pick 5 and give Coolingwood instead pick 24 and if SUNS are in a good mood they add Wright or Brodie. Treloar is happy to re-structure his contract. Average 600K per year from SUNS, first 2 years 800K, then 600K, 400K, 400K.

As God Rowell said "I expect the boys to make right decisions" regarding re-signing. If they want to stick together they can't get overpaid. Winning and playing finals would help.

I really like 26 or under as elite target/pick 5 swap. No chance pick 5 for Treloar.The club has been heavily linked to Collingwood’s Adam Treloar. Is there any interest from the Suns for the midfielder?

“If it worked out then great but I can’t see how it would. He is not in that 26 or under age group that we were talking about for pick 5.
“If that changed and Adam did approach us then I don’t think we could tell him a flat no because he is a very talented player.”

According to the Roar a 19 year old and a couple of 18 year olds have been told that if there are list spots the club will take them, the problem is that if Brodie and Wright stay those kids wont get a gig.
Can Thompson be put on a long term injury list?.

I love the transparency from the club.
We are finally not losing any best 22 players and we are bringing in at least 2 x best 22 players.
Plus a pick 5 high quality kid (or a gun mature player if the stars line up) & a minimum 2 x top 20 academy players.
How the hell is that boring?

hm.. a 19 year old. Who other than Gore is an overager of 19? There was only a couple 19 year olds on the academy this year, wasn't there?
Disagree a bit with the last comment. Yes we have some depth in the midfield but it’s not the quality depth that the top sides have.Have any other Suns players requested a trade?

What were ultimately the stumbling blocks for both Wright and Brodie at the Suns?
“Ben (King) and Sam (Day) held down those key spots and in the midfield probably Hugh Greenwood came in probably hurt Will. Noah (Anderson) also went inside in the last half of the year.”
Are there any concerns that if Wright and Brodie leave it would hurt the depth the club was starting to build on the list?
“No, our depth is OK, especially in the midfield area. We have had a lot of draft picks in the last couple of years so we have brought in a lot of players.”

Lets see who has performed this year in the academy/QAFL.
I havent heard much about Joyce. Colenso and Gore has been the main 2 I would think.
As for the 18 year olds... I'd say either Fyfe or/and Pescud, both have been talked up about recently.

I think we will have midfield depth, but the quality is young. That’s why Atkins is important. And Treloar would be the cherry.

Brodie?
Rankine & Ainsworth could also spend time in the midfield next season.
MacPherson probably also needs to step up his versatility through the midfield if he wants cement best 22.

I like the wording used in terms of Treloar not meeting our criteria for paying up pick 5. If it comes about he wants to come we hopefully won't be put in a position we overpay.

Just re read the article , he doesn't specifically say that but I believe a couple know they have a potential spot while a couple may end up on other teams lists

Craig Cameron says himself that other clubs are looking at players from the academy. And why wouldn't they? the boys have been playing up in QLD, where all the clubs have been watching them play, while nobody in vic has been able to play any footy.
Dordoro/essendon and richmond have been known to bid on academy/NGA players. Its how Essendon got mosquito from Hawthorn. How Richmond got 1 or 2 Lions academy players last draft.

But for a team to finish 15th to only get in Markov and Atkins, with all due respect, doesn't seem like it's enough. I know we're in a unique position with the youth of our list but we seem to be relying a lot on internal development. I know that will happen to some degree, but how much is always uncertain.
Must admit I was a bit flat when Cameron essentially said that was it.
