One top line outside mid
One Key defender
One rebounding Defender
One top line outside mid - get in line for one of them, and be prepared to pay massive overs
One Key defender - If you think Thompson has 2 years of good footy, you could aim to bring in a solid foot soldier (e.g. Josh Walker from Kangaroos who can be solid depth forward/back if you need to move on from 2MP and/or Hombsch
One rebounding Defender - A pure rebounder wouldn't break the bank / cost much draft capital - just look at a club that has a surplus of that type in St Kilda - Shane Savage / Jimmy Webster could be had for almost nothing and represent a definite upgrade over a cooked Harbrow/Hanley. A player who can actually defend (e.g. Broad) would cost a little more but hardly a big overpay.
I concur that the bulk of our future team are already at the club now. I don't believe we need to massively overpay for any future non-star players, but there are definitely holes to be filled and if we have to pay market rates to fill them and offer an extra year on their deal to round out the team, then so be it.
The Rowell deal is a watershed/benchmark deal. Any future deal signed for both players inside and outside the club needs to look at that and whether they are worth it relative to our best player.
