I would go after William, Finlayson and o'halloran. One FA the other two out of contract. O'halloran could easily get more opportunities with GCS. Finlayson is pretty good in attack or third tall intercept defender. William most probably will stay with GWS or go to a premiership contender club.

If the season gets cancelled right now.
Suns will take pick 1 and 18 into the 2020 draft

Brisbane losing to Hawks atm too so there second Rd pick will be in the 19-28 range

just saying ;)
This is looking likely with Gil the Dill to suspend the season in a half time press conference

So if they slash lists potentially from 44 to 38 due to the Coronavirus epidemic what does that mean for us? We have 52 players contracted so will we have to slash our list down to say 46 players? If so there will be some carnage on our list...

If you read the article I posted in the other thread, it says there will austerity measures in place once we’re over the other side.

The soft cap will be cut back. This will greatly affect both qld clubs.

I don’t pretend to know how the Suns are bank rolling your expanded rookie list, but I’m not sure the AFL will be able to justify such expenditure when the whole competition is going to be in debt.

My hope is the AFL takes a hard look at 3rd party payments that are wide spread down south, but barely exist up here.

Ask for clarification on our board.

AFL looking at total list of 35 to 38 players. No rookie lists.

2020 draft rankings
To many inside mids and club tied players in 2020.
Trade our first Rd pick for picks next year or mixture of this and next year.

will be plenty of diamonds in second and third rounds this year considering zero footy played this year.

Too knightmarish.

I reckon we take our first pick to the draft and also pick up Davies. That’s two quality players. If we come last then we use the first pick of the second round as a trading pawn for 2021. I reckon Dew and the Team would want 3 strong draft years but a fourth wouldn’t hurt

With talk AFL lists are set to be slashed we may not take more than 2 players at the draft.

There’s been a bit of draft talk in the media from both Twomey and Jake Naill, that this years draft might be very different to past drafts.

Twomey even suggested there might only be 25 odd picks, or basically a first round plus top end nga/fs/academy picks.

Basically clubs will be required to cut their list size to 3players, with no rookies, etc.

There may not a requirement for teams to delist 3 players this year and take 3 picks to the draft with the reduction of list sizes.

With Twomey suggesting possibly only 25 picks, I’d hazard to guess teams will only be required to make a minimum of 1 selection.

Naill in his article quoted Gil saying there won’t be any underage footy this year. Basically the AFL won’t have the money to fund the NAB league or U18 championships.

This will have a flow on effect in regards to trading draft picks this year.

Edit: it’s now been confirmed the AFL are looking at 35 player lists.

I actually don't mind that, academy players can still choose to be overagers for next year U18 like Coleman or Briggs.

The top 10 players seem to be inside mids.
Plus we have Davies coming in.
Last thing we need is more inside mids who can’t play anywhere else on the ground.
Aka Fiorini Brodie Miller Rowell
