Still not an attractive club to land anyone beyond fringe players.

It’s a crucial piece to copying the lions formula, but a bloke would rather spend 10 months flying FIFO to his family than join our club

Says it all really.... I’m sure Markov will win us a Brownlow 👌

Wait till the end of the trade period before you start pouring gasoline over the club for 2021.

People have heaps of reasons why they don't want to leave a current club and move interstate.

Or the fact that he wants to stay and Collingwood doesn't want him to leave? Seems like a fairly loyal dude who loves the club so he has no reason to leave. Collingwood would be very accommodating to him regarding him being able to fly up and see his partner when needed

I hear what you’re saying but there’s a club 60km up the M1 that has no dramas enticing players up north. They took on the likes of Neale, Cameron, Hodge and 2 of our players and turnt their club from a laughing stock to a top 2 side.

We have all the young talent in the comp, and it’s crucial we turn pick 5 into a quality, experienced, top level player.

love your passion for Will Philips Bods, but we’re swimming in young talented kids.

maybe we’d be a more attractive option if we hadn’t stunk up the joint in the 2nd half of the season.

I’d prefer the aura or someone like a Nat Fyfe
If he said he was heading to the Suns half the comp would pick up the phone..

similar when Ablett signed up for GC.

In saying that.. I doubt Fyfes on the market

Some semi possible targets,
If I had to pick between Treloar and Merrett, I’d choose Merrett.

Yeah im on the Merrett band wagon aswell, Pick 5 and Will Brodie

or as well, his partner has only a 10 mth contract, and when that's done, maybe they might want to increase family, so FIFO for 10 mths, and then she's back to Melb, so it would make sense for him to stay at C'wood.

If this did play out, would Adam Treloar be our Lachie Neale? Look back at the 2018 off season and Brisbane obviously scored big with Neale but they also added some role players like Lincoln McCarthy and Marcus Adams. You could potentially make a similar argument about us bringing role players like Rory Atkins and someone else like Ben Brown.

I guess what I'm really trying to ask is whether securing Treloar will send us up the ladder in the same way Neale did for Brisbane? We know Treloar is statistically one of the best midfielders in the game right now so that surely makes a huge difference when you team him up with Matty Rowell.

Trading Treloar would resolve the pies salary cap issues with resigning Moore, De Goey, Mihocek and Daicos. Also if we sent them Wright they get the tall forward they are after. It’s a win win if we can convince Treloar

I can’t see it happening this year anyway.. maybe next year they might realise how the situation might not be the best having to travel all the time just to spend time together and he may go up to Queensland after all..

I don’t mind trading pick 5- we have enough young blokes now from first rounders to build our team around, now we need to go and build depth, quality around these young blokes and a player like Adam is just who we need.. maybe he might not work out but at least it shows we are looking to get a big fish.. and we have the money to do so too.,.

If Wright is traded and either King and/or Day go down next year then what do we do?

Also what chance do you more learned followers of draft prospects do you think there is of Phillips Still being available at #5?
He will be there but I don't think he is the player we should be drafting

Will be there. My gut tells me we'll select him if DGB isn't there.

Agree Bods

I can’t help but think a club like Geelong or Hawthorn would work day and night with 2MP to get him using his body in the contest. The suns however seem to go “oh he’s not developing “ and throw players away. We will get exposed throwing away quality youngsters especially where we don’t have depth.

50/50 - I would say it depends on who Swans take it 4 and we would just take who's left between DGB and Phillips
