Do think we need to time our run a bit.
Still a couple of years away from some of the young players reaching genuine A grade (maybe other than Rowell who is a freak).
At the moment it is OK if there are just flashes of high end from the 21 and unders, but to push into finals in a meaningful way we would need a few of them to be consistent enough to be in the AA squad of 40 and close to AA level. If we can get 3 or 4 into the AA squad in a few years we would be in the hunt.
I like the 26 and under mention, since that player would still be in their peak in 3 or 4 years when we would hope to be a top 4 contender.
That is another one of the problems with Treloar, in 4 years would expect him to be cooked and not in the best 22.
In 2 years time we could bring in an A grader of any age and it would be fine (like Higgins and Smith to the Cats). In NBA parlance, a 'ring-chaser' who wants to play finals. They can be 30 and only have a year or 2 left and it would be good.
Geelong bringing in Smith and soon to be Higgins.
