Any views on whether Blake Coleman will crack into our best 22 next year?

More likely 2022. Will probably spend a year in the reserves. Needs to build his stamina some. But might be a sneaky chance if McCarthy goes down with an injury, as that's his natural position.

Can someone break down what pies did with the bids around Coleman?
They seem to have traded out there next year first and then keep using it to pick up more and more late picks next year. Seem to be just trading it each turn as they see who clubs want

I dont think our overall strategy was too bad. A few pages ago there was that list of picks and average games played. Picks 25ish averaged 50ish games whereas picks 10-15 averaged 100 games. Our 2 first rounders this year would have been in the vicinity of pick 25. Our second rounder next year would be in the vicinity of pick 30ish. We trade what ended up being Pick 21 and 22 for a potential first rounder next year whilst giving up our future pick 30ish (which probably gets blown out by 5ish picks due to matched bids) for what ended up being equivalent to Coleman and a fourth rounder. We now have the chance to land a potential high end pick that has a higher chance of being a 100 gamer. I think we really did make the most of our resources. Props to the Broge doge.

I reckon the problem with having someone like Nathan Ablett commentating on players is that he doesn't have any sort of AFL record of note behind him, so it is hard for him to be anything other than positive.

Wonder if we'd be willing to trade back up to one of their next picks with our future third rounders we've picked up

Honestly I hope the league is past the point that you have to be an ex-player to be an expert. We're better off if we have actual professionals who have worked at the role rather than cramming another ex-player into a job for mates

Is it ok to feel sorry for Collingwood fans? This incompetence over the last two-three years has the potential to destroy them over the next decade.

There won't be many bids in the early part of next years draft. Probably two, with Daicos and Burgoyne.

Is the AFL GM a robot? I've never seen someone look so angry and stiff just announcing names.
