More and more i watch and read up on Thilthorpe the more i want him.

Over 200cm and 99kg already

But his athleticism and ability below his knees is elite for his size. Going to be a nightmare to match up on for players at AFL level if he can put it all together.

Likewise. I'd be staggered if the Crows passed. They've lined him up all year. Adelaide boy. Staggered.

Simplistically , if we get Thilthorpe : McDonald or Hollands
it will be massive for our club.

Get 2 picks in Top 10 ....even 1st round....can set us up for success sooner rather than later
As long as we don’t win any pesky games for the rest of this year.

They’d have their sights on Thilthorpe and Lukosis teaming up over the coming years.

Doubt they go for an interstate kid.

Don’t the Bulldogs need their first round pick for JUH?
They will lose it to the bid anyway so would be better off stockpiling a greater number of points to match the bid.

Bulldogs atm don't have enough point to match a bid at pick 1 or even pick 2, they will need to trade. Our pick 21 and 2 picks in the 40's is worth more than pick 9* granted not by match but there is a really realistic window to grab their pick.

EASTERN RANGES
Hawthorn will have access to 185cm midfielder Connor Downie as part of its Next Generation Academy. Downie has plenty of class and played as an outside midfielder and across half-back last year, but had planned to move into more of an inside role this season. Clubs believe he's one of the most highly rated NGA prospects in the pool.

Highly rated, but for other clubs they might be reluctant to bid as they’ve seen so little of him this last 12 months.

Not necessarily, can always go into a points deficit in the next year.
That would take points from our first pick and given we are looking at rebuilding I think there is zero chance we let that happen (unless we trade the future first out for a pick this year I guess).

we have enough assets that aren't going to be part of our future plans that could get us a few picks in the 40s and 50s to make it work im sure

Realistically we shouldn’t win another game for the year.
Hard when we still have Crows to play, and also the scum.
But for longer term it’s in our interest to not win another game this year.
Play the kids, I’d even rest Mitchell.
Use this years draft & to a lesser extent the trade period to springboard our next challenge
I hate this way of thinking. How long should we tank for, according to you? Just this year, or do we stunt any attempt to climb the ladder in the name of draft picks?

Been watching a fair few Youtube content and I must say that if he's available when we pick it's going to be virtually impossible to not pick Elijah Hollands. Yes the knee is concerning but it could very well end up being the reason we get him. I don't mean that in the sense of he's no good but rather that he'd likely have gone pick 1 or 2 if not for being injured. He really does have everything we need. Looks to be able to deliver the ball well into the forward line and can also kick them from well outside 50 too. Just like Downie it's a pity he didn't get to show off more of his talents this year especially more as an on baller. The kid also has that confidence about him and always looks to be having fun (similar to Isaac Smith) and I feel this kind of attitude rubs off on your teammates and shouldn't be understated.

If the draft was held today and assuming Adelaide don't get a priority pick then you'd think it could go:

Pick 1 - Western Bulldogs - Jamarra Ugle-Hagan (bid matched from Adelaide)
Pick 2 - Adelaide - Riley Thilthorpe
Pick 3 - North Melbourne - Logan McDonald
Pick 4 - Hawthorn - Elijah Hollands
Pick 5 - Sydney - Braeden Campbell
Pick 6 - Fremantle - Denver Grainger-Barras
Pick 7 - Gold Coast - Alex Davies
Pick 8 - Carton - Will Phillips

Either way we'll be getting a good kid in but we obviously need so x-factor and I truely believe Hollands has that. If everything plays out like above the only thing I could see us maybe doing something different is putting in a bid for Braeden Campbell to keep Sydney honest. You'd think the club would only do this if they felt Campbell was in fact better than Hollands just in case Sydney call your bluff. Campbell is gonna be gun so a bid could very well be in play.

With Sydney tied to Campbell it really doesn't matter if they pick just before us and also Freo is in points deficit so they may not matter either. Who do we feel Adelaide and North will go for?

Noah Anderson what could have been..
Due to the early emergence of Rowell its ridiculous how underrated Noah's rookie campaign has gone this year. Once he totally works out the speed of the AFL level he's gonna be an absolute gun. He's playing in one of the hardest positions on the ground and hasn't looked out of place at all. Really sux that we couldn't get him in as a FS.

When you run some comparisons he's playing at roughly the same level as Day, wouldn't it have been nice to get both of them!

Are we looking at a rebuild or a retool? There's little point rebuilding with so much invested in Mitchell, O'Meara and Wingard already.

That said, if we trust our talent ID then it makes sense to trade out of next year and into this year given there'll be a lot of clubs wanting to do the opposite.

to become contenders again in 2/3/4 years we probably need to change over 10-12 players from our 'oldest' 22 that played GWS+North. Whether that's a rebuild or a retool doesn't really matter, it's just a pedantic term the media likes that should just be substituted for 'significant change'

I guess if you work out the bidding system, even if he was available as FS, getting Anderson would definitely have cost us Day, and would have made Finn trickier to get as well
