Knightmare has been hearing Thilthorpe might go 1 to Adelaide. Which means we'd get one of McDonald (probs gone to North with 2), DGB or Hollands. Would be a good result.
If we got McDonald because Adelaide took Thilthorpe, North took Hollands, and Sydney took DGB then that would be massive.

I think it's unlikely that McDonald slips past both North & Sydney but there's a chance. Would probably be the biggest win for us and lets us focus on other areas the next few years.
If he gets past North there's a decent chance, do Sydney pick McDonald when they have Daniher, Blakey, McCartin x 2 and Franklin.

really don’t get the hype around thilthorpe, he averaged 11 touches 0.5 goals, he isn’t a number 1 ruck and he isn’t a key fwd.... hope he is gone by our pick , he won’t be a very good player at afl.

I would be shocked if Adelaide passed him up. For him to then be passed up twice more to land in our laps would be insanity. But I guess even Buddy got passed by multiple times in his draft year before landing to us at pick 5.

McDonald is the one guy I think there is no chance of us getting. He should go 1. He won't last to 4. The other four: Thilthorpe, Hollands, DGB, Phillips seem to be more up in the air. Phillips may however be taken by North if McDonald goes 1. They are a club that cannot take a risk right now. They are a rabble paying 3 senior coaches and cannot afford a potential bust at pick 2. Phillips is the safest player in the draft and will hit the ground running in 2021.

This.
North about to trade Ben Brown as we speak. No chance they take a mid either.

Have you watched him play more than the 1 game since the last time you proclaimed he wouldn’t make it?

Thats absolutely ridiculous! Not many 202cm players move like Thilthorpe. He could easily play wing or mid with his athletic traits. If he slips to our pick we would be on the clock for less than a second before calling his name.

With Thilthorpe what is his player comparison meant to be like ? Who have they compared him to at AFL level ?
That is the trouble. He isn’t a prototype. Could be Corey mckernan...or Shaun...or James sellar...

Never said he won’t make it , just won’t be a star like many people think he will be. His output was average and seemed to struggle at times against men, McDonald dominated against men.

Don’t think so, he isn’t a genuine ruck or fwd so what would his role be ?? Honestly staggered if he goes top 5.

But has he played both ruck and forward because he's so versatile and good at the positions?

Perhaps the team that selects him will prioritize him in one position and pinch-hit in the other?

Regardless, he seems to be a very talented prospect and I'd be interested in his development (wherever he goes). He reminds me a little of Matty Kreuzer, with potentially better skills. The only thing that held Kreuzer back were injuries - otherwise he could've dominated at AFL level.

How would you compare Thilthorpe to Franklin at the same age?
Franklin was a star tall forw for WA kicking 60m goals and showing the speed and agility that highlighted his career, Thilthorpe is a contested mark with good endurance and with a bit of speed for a big man and some tricks, the only reason buddy went 5th was because he had attitude which worried some clubs, from what I remember, as for Thilthorpe, he seems like a decent prospect, but as Knightmare says, I'd let someone else pick him, good talent, but there's better on offer.

So he's now where as agile and fast as Franklin?

his best position is as a ruck, he could be a tall forw, but its not his best position imo and it also boosts his profile

here he is mostly as a ruck

P.S. rumours are his calf injury could be ostietis pubis? they are rumours so not confirmed
