More like we have a handshake agreement with Norf to trade our future first for pick 30 and 39 after the bid for Reef comes in, giving us "4-5 picks inside the top 40".

Could be merit in this, as you say it would allow us to get another pick in before Reef if it played out that way.
Our future first for pick 17 and Richmond's future second rounder would be fair in my view.

By the time North's second pick comes around it could be ~15. If there's someone on the board we desperately want I wouldn't be too concerned if we traded our future first for it.
Our future first's current value - on the 2020 ladder only - is 13. The risk is obviously a slide next year.
Biggest issue is that North are also taking a fair few picks tonight.

I think you missed the point about us being bad negotiators at the trade table. Like comically, historically bad.
No Club wants to be the Club that Collingwood gets the better of this year.
I am hoping that we get some talent that we can get excited about.
Hopes for tonight:
1. We land one of Zach Reid or Nik Cox, Cox the more likely of the two, either would be huge acquisitions.
2. Get two picks in BEFORE we take Reef.
3. 5 Picks inside or around top 40 like Dekka said.
4. A decent tall back, tall fwd and small pressure crumbing fwd.

Agree, actually. I have the Swans taking him.
Exciting to get fresh talent into the team and likelihood of actually getting to see some of them play seniors in 2021, thanks to retirements and removal of deadwood.
After the anger and frustration of the trade period (myself very much included), today marks a fresh start. Onwards and upwards!
