Exactly. This is peak Gubby Allen. Tomorrow's problem!

All your targets are vanishing before my eyes Pie 4 Life.

Now we turn to the very cryptic Walking Stick, Shaved Head, First.

That Nailed that 1 Pre-Season Gubby was in Charge with us

9 available spots now if
"Pies delist another 3" is accurate.

So we keep 1 or 2 spots open for mid-season draft and add ons after christmas training a la Dunn this year?

For those interested, bids in the BF phantom have taken our picks down from 65 and 70 down to 56 and 59. With a bid on Reef at 20 that would leave us a touch over 300 points short. Trading in a mid 3rd round pick should cover us comfortably.

I reckon we will try and get Gold Coast's Pick 5 IMO. They only need one pick, and could end up 5 + 27 for a couple of our picks (R1 next year and say 14) - with maybe something else.

Seems to be some suggestion that Gold Coast if anything are looking to move up the draft board not fall down 10 spots or more on draft night.

This draft looks like it's going to be pretty similar to any other year whereby 6 or so prospects have positioned themselves in the minds of many as a level above that next grouping of talent that will be taken in remainder of the 1st round.

I guess you have to ask yourself when proposing any trade deal would you be happy if Collingwood were to bypass the opportunity to take one of the prospects viewed as having a greater chance of becoming elite in return for a very good prospect and a future 1st?

To even entertain this deal Gold Coast would have to be betting on us falling outside the eight in 2021 you'd imagine.

It might be more realistic setting our sights a little lower and aiming for a trade that nets us a pick between 8 to 11 even though it's increasingly looking likely that will now not be early enough for the likes of Cox.

After losing Daniher it's hard to see Essendon bypassing him with all 3 of the top 10 selections they currently possess.

i'm confused by this. shouldnt the surplus with the discount we get for Reef be added to our next selection? this would mean pie 4 life should have had pick 17?

Hey guys, update on the BigFooty Draft. An unnamed coach who may or may not be PMBangers ;) decided to bid on Reef McInnes the pick before me, which saw me forced to match.

As I said througout this thread there were players ahead of Reef - Reid, Cox, Bruhn and Chapman - and once they were all off the board (ironically the pick before GWS), there was no genuine reason not to match.

With the second pick I selected Eddie Ford, an exciting forward/mid from Western Jets.

So I'll just have a snooze now until the end of the draft and pick up the best tall left for me, and see what else remains in terms of best available.

Not the best result if that played out in the actual draft.

I like Ford but I couldn’t help but noticed Cook was still on the board šŸ˜

Yeah I was genuinely 50/50 on the pick. I was weighing up where I would play McInnes and which of them would be better. I think if Ford had played a full year this year, he'd be talked up in that top 15, and it's easy to go off recency bias. Cook was on my shortlist originally, but just that bit of long-term exposure and X-factor won me over for Ford. Think he can be incredibly damaging.
