Hight Doubt he take that and Once you trade your Future 1st Round you can't trade anymore of your Future Picks
We have 2 second rounders. We’re allowed to trade one of them out even if we trade our future first.

what do people think he will say? "I'll asesss my options in 2 -4 years?" lol You dont want to piss clubs off before you're even drafted.

He could say it to all clubs except Collingwood that'll be good

Minimum list size going into 2021 is 37 (36 senior list + 1 rookie) isn't it? With our 4 current rookies, that would mean that we only have to take 3 selections in the ND.
Does that mean 3 from the ND and upgrade 3 rookies? Need 36 on senior list so have to put 6 more on senior list don't we?

That would probably be fair, albeit in Essendons favour, which is to be expected. So there’s absolutely no way Dodo would do that. He’ll want 2 firsts because he’s a flog.

and our Future 2nd Rounder as well.

We might even do it

Essendon would be better off negotiating with GWS if they were open to trading pick 8 for two 2020 1st round selections.

If they would prefer to deal with us then that could mean they're more interested in gaining a future first as part of any deal.

If so then a future 1st and 2nd would appear a more than reasonable offer.

If they reject that and try to hold us to ransom with a threat to bid on Reef then I'd walk away, forget about trying to secure an elite kpp prospect and look towards GWS perhaps as a potential trade partner.

Perhaps we could turn 14, 16 and a future 1st into 13, 15, 20, 26.

May not be to everyone's taste (or agreeable to GWS) but if Essendon were to follow through and bid that would still leave us walking away with Reef, two late 1st round selections and an early second.

Those couple of picks in the 20's might be the range for a Callow or Ford that I keep hearing about on this board.

Collingwood could throw the first curveball of the 2020 national draft by placing an early bid on Brisbane Lions Academy prospect Blake Coleman.
The Magpies currently hold two first round selections (14 and 16), with the small forward - and younger brother of Lions player Keidean - a player of interest for the club.

Collingwood is set for a bumper national draft with the club set to take the most picks into the event on Wednesday December 9. Their current list size is the lowest in the entire competition.

Coleman played QAFL this year and could yet join his older brother on the Brisbane list if they elect to match a bid for him.

The Pies are currently in a delicate space given a bid on Academy prospect Reef McInnes is likely to be situated close to their two picks in the teens.

The tall midfielder showed his skills throughout 2019 and recently took out the 20m sprint test at the Victorian draft combine with a time of 2.78 seconds.

Draft sources have told Foxfooty.com.au the Bombers have spoken openly of potentially swapping Pick 8 with the Pies, but an official offer is yet to come.

Collingwood Next Generation Academy member Reef McInnes.

Collingwood is also looking to move its 2021 first round pick, given the selection will be wiped by a likely top-five bid on father-son star Nick Daicos.

Ugh...

Assuming it's pick 14 (lost due to McInnes) + 2021 1st for 8..

So essentially it's McInnes + 2021 1st vs McInnes + Pick 8

PURELY BECAUSE of McInnes, this doesn't look disgustingly bad. However, Dodoro is well aware of this, and by doing this we are essentially transferring the discount value of an academy player to Essendon...

Really don't like this, we can't just keep showing weakness and not stand out ground. Look what happened with Treloar/Stephenson/Phillips. Call the bluff - tell them if you bid on McInnes at pick 6-8, we're not matching. And then proceed to negotiate with this as the basis

Does that mean 3 from the ND and upgrade 3 rookies? Need 36 on senior list so have to put 6 more on senior list don't we?
Is the Delisted Free Agent window closed?

I suspect we are interested in a few delisted players at basement price. But this would depend on how our pick negotiation goes, and therefore the number of spots we have available.

Coleman bid in the top twenty?

I'm sure he's good but is he that good?

We don't have any indigenous players do we? I'm sure someone at the club would be keen not to have Heritier point out during a hearing against us. If thinngs fall our way grabbing other players of need he is a good type to join the mix. We really need more avenues to goal.

More likely than a pick 14-18.
Neither are particularly likely, but I think some here are overestimating the impact of losing one player who was injured half the year and another who was bog average for the whole year. Assuming Stevo could recapture his early form, we’ve lost some potential improvement for next year, but I don’t really think we’re much worse off than we were for the bulk of 2020. If one or two players can take that next step like Daicos did this year, and Grundy recaptures his best form, we will still be thereabouts.

Coleman bid in the top twenty?

I'm sure he's good but is he that good?
Yeah on the weekend I was told we were looking at bidding on him with 16.

I wouldn’t go that far, see him around that 25-35 mark, but that pick 25 or so is what it will cost Brisbane if we do bid. Brisbane have committed to him privately which isn’t a crash hot move as we know they will match.

Its also why I quoted Dave’s post saying Brisbane for trading in points because that could be our aim with saying we will bid on him.

Best case scenario is it's our 2021 first rounder for pick 8 and we keep 14/16 but no way Essendon goes for that.
If we were to finish 8, we would have picks 11(1329 pts), 29(653) x2, 47(316), 65(90). As we have 2 x 2nds, we could use our 1st and one of our 2, 2nds or our 3rd and still have over 1000 points, for Daicos. Dons may well agree to that.

Our 1st next year could Possibly be a Top 5 Pick

I very much doubt that, and think that’s an overly pessimistic view. In 2019, Phillips and Stevo were non-contributors, Treloar only played 10 games...short term, we won’t miss them that much. While our time as being genuine contenders is over for now, I think the rest of the list is too good for bottom 5. So barring some catastrophic run of injuries or implosion, I’m guessing mid table mediocrity in 2021. 7th-10th
