Give me a specialist over an jack of all trades master of none any day.

We have enough "versatile" types. Get a KPF that specialises in teh role and kicks goals.

Unless he (Cox) can go back to eventually allow Moore fwd I'd go with Callow of the 2, bit risky due to injury history but imo a better chance to become a power fwd.

Club said they are not into Purer KPF as we would Traded for Ben Brown

GWS are the team to watch in terms of pick trades:

They currently hold the following picks: 10, 13, 15, 20, 29, 52, 74, 88

Without knowing how many they've cut, they might only use a couple of picks in the draft. Depending on how they rate the respective drafts, they'll either be looking to move up in this draft or to get in future picks.

I'll preface this with the fact I have no idea how Reef is ranked among other draftees, I haven't been following it that closely.

However this is a great call - need to work with GWS IMO. If we could strike a deal whereby we get pick 10 for our future first (I'm sure other draft picks will be exchanged) AND and agreement they wont bid on McIness with their other picks, all of a sudden we only really need to get Reef through Freo and Norths picks (assuming he isn't considered a top 10 prospect).

If we get picks 10,14,16 + Reef that's absolutely massive for us moving forward. Happy to pay overs to GWS increase our chance of this happening - if a bid comes before pick 16 on Reef that hurts us big time...

This guy is more agile and aggressive then Ben Brown. Brown is on railway tracks and is not physical.

188cm/79kg
26/3/02
Sandringham Dragons/Vic Metro
Midfielder/forward

Perkins put in a very impressive testing day recently at the Vic Metro Combine, running 2.92 seconds over the 20m sprint, coming third in the running vertical jump (92cm) and also completing the 2km time trial in 6:23 minutes in a very good run. Perkins is an exciting prototype: he busts through traffic, he has the power and explosive streak to step past opponents, he can play as a half-forward and be a goalkicking option. The Sandringham Dragon brings some exciting elements to the fore and has plays with confidence.

Has him at 10 now must of got wind of a club around the range thats keen.

I must say I do like the sound of that "write up". Hopefully we can get a KPP as well though.

Yes I was staggered with the revised rank to 10. But his highlights are amazing, and 3rd in V. Leap and top 10 in 2k at the combine would have contributed.

Dunno where this bloke is supposed to go but looks the goods and be a good replacement for Jayden.

And trained with us in the pre-season. I liked the look of it when I saw him out there.

I think they’re still trying to decide whether to call him a KPP or a tall utility.

A good outcome would be a more mobile Cale Hooker type as someone who can play at CHB / CHF at the flick of a switch (albeit one that could probably catch Buddy).

A bad outcome would be a Blicavs type as more of a CHB / wing.

Can't see him playing deep as a primary goalkicker at either end though, as his elite skill set in terms of speed, endurance, and disposal skills on both sides of the body would almost demand that he be a bit further up the ground either way.

Think the dodo might take him.

I actually think Callow would make quite a nice defender 😂

Both of those players were significantly bigger bodied even when young. Cox does fit the Hine narrative of built like a stick insect type.

For comparisons. Pies dont have a great history of turning these guys around...WHE STEPHO FRASER Richards etc.

I know your being serious and also joking with me but:

What a waste just like Moore.

Im out to win games not save them.

Can turn just about any tall with a bit of Athleticism and drive into a good defender.

Hate that we have such an aversion to attacking the game as a club.

Well you know that’s just a backup plan if he doesn’t make it as a forward 😂

Not sure you can take that physical comparison with Blicavs as a genuine one, when Blicavs at that time has already been training his physique heavily as an underage middle distance runner for many years.

Yes Cox is skinny, but even with that noticeable lack of muscularity at age 17 he appears to have that wiry type of strength with a solid core, as evidenced by a look at any of his highlight packages where he appears to do pretty well in body-on-body and contested marking/ball situations even when there is significant contact.

It also looks like he has a good wingspan and his speed and endurance would point to being quick on a lead / closing down on a forward, which would be important at either end.

The one big take away from his bio though is the note about his professionalism and standards he sets on the training track. I'd anticipate that we'd end up with a highly driven kid who will do whatever it takes to develop his physique to an AFL-ready standard and find ways to leverage both his physical traits and his skillset to get the most out of himself as an AFL footballer.

Would a Blicavs type be that bad an outcome?

If we were just after someone who could play a role at CHB and on a wing then no. If we're after someone who could potentially play a role up forward, either when needed or on a more permanent basis then yes.

Yeah reminds me more of Mihocek than B Brown. Even if he is unable to hold down full forward in the AFL... definitely worth a look as a mobile half forward type.

Me like - if we can nab Cox (or another KPP) then I wouldn't bat an eyelid at doing whatever it took to pick him up, if we missed out on someone like Macrae.

I think we need to look at an excitement machine with one of our picks, a tall with another and then Reef.

Im conscious of the fact we have traded out Stephenson and Treloar...so that's two of our quickest players.

I think we really lacked midfield or half forward goals this year. It all depended on Cox, Mihocek or De Goey.

If say one pick would be a choice between Cook, Ford or Perkins

Another pick would be a choice between Cox or Reid ir Callow. And then obviously Reef.

If we get another first, I'd be looking at one of GWS picks and try to get a second rounder as well for points for Reef. If we get the 4 first rounders, then I'd definitely go the 2 talls, 1 x factor and Reef.

Some People have said Reef is a Simmlar Player to Treloar except Bigger and Taller

I know there was a lot involved in the Stephenson trade... but I think the fact that they traded Stephenson and Atu ... both from an area of the ground where we are understocked already... suggests to me that they will be taking a half forward type at some point in the draft whether it be Perkins, Ford, Laurie, etc

And for balance sake i like the idea of taking 1 KPP, mid in Reef and an explosive half forward type.

There is no doubt in my mind that essendon, nth Melbourne or gws will bid on reef before we even get to our first pick. It sucks but tell me what they have to lose? They know we will be forced to match and in the 1pc chance we don’t they will have a great prospect on their books. It’s another chance to stick it to pies. We just could not trade up high enough in the draft.

We could Pass IF a Bid Comes Too High(Doubtful Though)

Injury history? Are you confusing Callow with Baldwin?
