Yeah he is ok. A number 1 pick? I don't think so. And I'm sure he wasn't recruited to just be a small forward.Raynar still a Good Forward
i agree that GWS are a chance. But I suppose we will still have another pick. It's a guessing game which I suspect the club will be clearer on who is doing what closer to the draft.I know it’s a bit of the unknown but I think it’s unlikely too. I think they are more of a chance to bid on Swans NGA Campbell in that suite of picks. I think the Giants at 13 or 15 are a chance though.
If it goes:
JUH - Dogs (bid match)
Logan Mac - Crows
Hollands - North
DGB - Swans
Thilthorpe - Hawks
Phillips - Suns
Campbell - Swans (Ess bid match)
Then from there I think the Dons would go with 2 mids Bruhn & Perkins (or even Fin Macrae) and one of Reid/Chapman/Henry as a KP type.
Fingers crossed anyway.

Like Petracca, I think he'll get there.Yeah he is ok. A number 1 pick? I don't think so. And I'm sure he wasn't recruited to just be a small forward.
But we aren't talking about him being a forward. He was a midfielder. And I dare say he would have played more as a midfielder if he had the tank to do so. That's why he was recruited.
You said it's easy to build up a tank. All I am saying is that it's not always the case to build a tank to play midfield.

He has explosive pace, but ran last in the 2km time trial. That's not as significant as it might seem. Grundy consistently runs last in our 2km time trial and nobody says he has no tank; just the opposite. Is it? Remember there were concerns with Cam Raynor's tank and he still blows a gale playing in the forward line. They can't get him into the midfield.
recovery and repeat efforts is more important than running long distance at a steady pace.He has explosive pace, but ran last in the 2km time trial. That's not as significant as it might seem. Grundy consistently runs last in our 2km time trial and nobody says he has no tank; just the opposite.
Campbell Is a beautiful kick of the ball, there's no better evidence than his highlights. What his highlights also show is his natural left foot dominance, where is his right foot. He can use his right foot but is it as natural as his left.
That's why I like Hollands so much, it's natural for Hollands to move left or right in traffic because he can use either side of his body to distribute the footy.
Their last pick is the one I'd target. It'll be pick 11 by the time it's "live". Look to trade for it on the night. I think Essendon will bid on both Campbell and Jones, sliding pick 8 to pick 11. Thankfully Essendon will only have 5 minutes to decide whether they accept of 2021 1st rounder for that pick. Then we can move on to Adelaide, for pick 12, if they decide against it.Are they actually going to use all 3 of those picks though?
Of course there is! Guys like Rioli went top 10 lol! Here’s the latest on L Browns mock draft. There is so much talent after pick 20

Giant Strides would you like me to make you owner of the OP - or pin your post to the top of every page - so you can continue to update the order in a more prominent position? Thanks Jeremias, I don't want to take it over, but if you'd like to pin it so I have access to it to update. (Just...www.bigfooty.com

I don’t follow the young players nor do I really follow draft orders etc but knowing that our biggest need is KPF I’d be more than happy for us to try and trade into the top 4 in the draft, knowing that there are some very good talls out there. Mids are everywhere but I’d really be going hard to get a tall. Just my opinion but they are there let’s be bold and go after them.
Cook will be available imo. He’s a good Stevo replacement. The two players id love are Cox and Cook.
Would love those 2, but don't reckon they'll slide to 14 and 16. Obviously I'm hoping Reef slides through too. The other is Perkins but also doubt he slides through.
Lets see how we go.

I think pies wait to see IF an early bid is made for Reef then match. Then go into picks trade mode. Use next year second round with our next pick to try and grab the very next pick. Then the other 2021 second round from dogs with 2021 first to get the very next pick again.
Or wait and see if we can use 14 and 16 before reef then move into pick swap mode.

I’ve been wrestling with this too.The big consideration here is where we think the bid for Reef will come.
In just about all the Phantom Drafts I've seen, Reef is placed around 10-16. So there is a huge likelihood he gets a bid, particularly by Essendon if they have the 3 picks.
If we anticipate a bid, then we'd lose pick 14 anyway to match.
Therefore, there would be merit in trading both 14 & 16 to try and get inside the Reef bid. The outcome here would be a superior pick to what we'd get at 14 anyway, and Reef as well. As opposed to Reef and whatever pick is left at 16 (considering we'd have blown 14 on the matched bid)
The net result would be the same that we'd get 2 kids...only this way we get a better kid to go with Reef.
If there is then an early bid on Reef, that's when we can consider bringing forward the future 1st to try and get a current pick around 10-14. That way we get a top 8 pick (from 14 & 16), Reef and another good kid.
Could end up looking something like Cox, Reef and Cook/Perkins.
Otherwise, if the bid doesn't come, we've lost a potential player, but could still look to bring the future pick.
I reckon Essendon might be looking to split pick 8. They've delisted quite a few players. I think they are running with about 31 listed players at the moment. So I assume they are wanting a big draft haul.
Are you talking about phantom drafts or power rankings? Because I’ve seen quite a few proper phantoms recently that have him at about 20. eDPS who works with Pie 4 Life at AFL draft central has had Reef at 10 in his power rankings all year but has him at 20 in his most recent phantom. He and P4L are the types on here who actually have industry connections too so hear more stuff about who’s interested in which kid than us.The big consideration here is where we think the bid for Reef will come.
