I’m the other way. I think Wills gets retained because we lost Treloar and we need another mature body as depth to play in the middle. I think we all have high hopes for Sier to step up but I’m sure that Sier is another Stephenson situation- Bucks hates him.
As for Appleby, I don’t see the point in retaining him. He’s had a go and couldn’t establish himself. He doesn’t really have a position. They’ve tried him down back and last season tried him up forward. I would rather give his list spot to a DFA or rookie from the draft.

I think apples best position is HFF, he showed this year that he could be a very dangerous forward, would offer much more than Thomas. Wills to me is VFL player at best. However, I would delist both of them and try to get a pick where we can get Isiah Winder

And people say we don't need a rebuild or half rebuild yet everyone has a different line of the ground they arent happy with. Midfields old and overrated, defence is old and lacking depth, forward line is just LOL, so other then a handful of individual players we all seem to rate no one is of consensus on the general team.
The other thing is time it takes for said players to come on together. We might feel we have enough coverage for a year to not need to take one this year but look to bring one in next season.
Example. Dons want him at pick 7 or 8 ( doubt it) and our brilliant recruiting team get it wrong again and match it ( not worth the pick )

If that's the case then he likely wont be there very late in the draft when we might conceivably have a pick to use, given that we (hopefully) will be only just matching a bid for Reef with some combination of DVI point-carry 2nd / 3rd / 4th round picks.
Wills should be cut. We were screaming out for a big bodied mid all year, yet he couldn't get a regular game despite the fact sier was injured and greenwood missed most of the year.
He has one trick which is tackling. When he gets the ball, he ruins all momentum.

Bucks seemed to allude to the fact that our backline is pretty set, at least for 2021. But that doesn't take into account Howe possibly only having 2-3 years left and Roughead only a year or so.
Seems like we'll be backing in Keane to take over from Roughead and Murphy is in the wings. Kelly too if we want.
Kelly and Murphy of course can play forward so my theory is that we just draft another tall defender or two hence my suggestion for Chapman and/or Nik Cox.

He might be, but I just don't want to use our first pick on an undersized and really just a loose defender, would rather take Perkins than waste a pick on a no mans land player. Intercepting in the AFL is a lot harder than under 18's

Yeah, true, Reef is right on the borderline of where our current first pick falls, I doubt any club would risk bidding on Reef because we could return the favor back to them, if he was a clear top 10 chance them maybe but I think it's safe to say that we will have 2 picks before Reef. What I really would like is 2 or 3 picks in the 25 to 50 range so we can pick up players like Winder, Ford, Lord, Laurie and the like

Explosive, fast, great kick and mark, not too small and has a decent rack on him. The only question is his endurance but he still goes in the midfield and gets a lot of possesions, he's a freak
