If the crows take the local lad I wonder if the Pies have something planned with North. The impulsive part of me wants Logan McDonald, but the sensible part says we try and get 3 first rounders plus Reef.

I don't know if the footy IQ is really an issue for Cox - in every bit of footage I've seen of him playing he seems to make good decisions without being rushed and seems to read the play pretty well.

I suspect the knock on him is that he looks more like a really tall midfielder rather than a lead, mark and kick goal type of tall forward and his skillset does lead itself more to playing further up the ground at either end (ie. CHB or maybe a roaming CHF).

I think that will appeal to us. I hope we trade up to get Nik Cox or have him fall to our pick.

I think we'll lose at least 1 of Appleby or Wills at today's list lodgment, potentially both. That would allow extra picks. Ideally we'd trade our 2021 1st and get 3 of those picks before a bid comes for Reef.

I'll be surprised if it isn't both.

So far Hollands, Thilthorpe and JUH are down, probably McDonald next based on the trend. Which is good news for us as it means DGB is potentially sliding to Essendon, and leaves KPDs in the pool.

Top 5 has gone pretty much as expected although in a slightly different order. Shame the AFL doesn't just release their draft software so everyone can use it and trade picks!

There's still three players I outright rank above McInnes and we're the fourth pick. There's a kid who's slid a bit I'm surprised by, but it means we will either A) get a tall, B) get the slider or C) not have to match a McInnes bid so we get another pick. Good for me so far.

EDIT: forgot to take into account the two matched bids so still five spots left, we're the sixth pick, will see what happens.

Sad to see players departing the club, but at least there is now more clarity with the Sier pathway to the midfield.

I hope we draft Matt Allison. He's the son of one of my best mates and is the one of the greatest kids you will ever meet. He's listed at 192cm but is still growing, looks 194cm to me now.

You still eyeing off a tall? Or is it into best available territory?

Still a couple of talls on the board (who are obvious) and yeah Bruhn is the other. I'm hoping one of the three are there. The others are pretty similar to Reef who i'd have in the next boat. If the two others with Bruhn go (both talls), then Reef is pretty on par with the few others I have on my personal list, and as I said, if it comes down to that I'd go with the one associated with the club. It's only if there's better available.

Our first round picks this year are pretty much equivalent to end of first / early second round picks, once you adjust for bid matches, so we don't have the collateral to move up that far in the draft in my opinion.
