You said last week he has good Inside Sources about what MIGHT happen Espically with Bidding on NGA's and Father and Sons
I don't think I said no such thing lol

I don't think Adelaide bid. Especially if Perkins is still on the board.

Everyone’s talking about Logan Macdoanld and how he’s going to be great.

He might, but I think it’s unlikely.

From the table above, only 2 of the 1st pick KPF of the draft have turned out the best in their draft.

Please go look at 2011 & 2012 draft. They’re awful.

All the yellow highlighted cells are really poor KPF drafts.

Please note I’ve not included Naughton as he was drafted a KPD.

Generally, in the good KPF drafts, the best KPFs are later.

Riccardi / Georgiades is iffy, but I just gave it to Riccardi.

I think that shows a couple of things. Good key forwards are hard to come by and you're more likely to find them early in the draft. I think with the 2019 draft its no surprise a mature ager in Riccardi looks like the best given its recent and he's more ready than his draft class. I think we need to hope Cox or Reid fall myself, there seems a bit of key position depth in this draft so hopefully they're good enough to make it.

Do a trade mid bid, garner some more points. Or Match the bid with our next selection which only would be 4 places down. The difference between 11-14 talent wise wont not be that big. The club would rate him and knows what he is capable of. They'll take the punt.
But if they don't rate him in the best 8 left, they'd be mad to match with 14. If they traded down, they'd need to trade both 14 and 16 down and then would still lose the highest pick they got pick. Could possibly trade them into future picks, match with scraps and then try to trade them back into this draft later - would be messy though and I don't think we'd gain from it.

Just gotta have a little faith. They'll do what they feel is best. I'm optimistic

Could Reef be a key forward? He's only 1 or 2cm off what most consider key position height. Players his age often grow a bit more too. He has speed and a good all round game. Seems a decent mark from highlights too. Maybe we have an answer to that problem staring us in the face.

I've got no qualms either way. If we do pass on Reef, the bidding club should feel pretty concerned, because like you said earlier, we're in the best position to rate him. I reckon that's one reason why these academy kids often seem to go a bit later than expected. I don't think your odds of gaining from a bid are particularly high. The bid gets matched and you don't get him, or the club who knows him best don't rate him anywhere near as highly as you do.

Don't think he be the Number 1 Forward but has Potential being a 2nd or 3rd Tall IF he did not come on as a Mid

I mentioned that plot twist months ago lol.

Could be in similar vein as Mihochek, but he is currently taller than him. Could start out as a key forward. But he does want to go into the midfield eventually.

But he is mobile and can play forward. That's what Bucks wanted, yeah? lol

And only turns 18 on saturday

So the phantom draft article loosely indicates that Adelaide may be interested in trading one of their 22/23 combination for a future second. Of course by then it'll probably be 27/28 by bid time...

So on that note I wouldn't be surprised if they accepted a trade of 28 for one of the two future seconds we hold (ours or the Dogs) which I suspect will both be ~30 next year.

You'd only do it after a bid for Reef though, or it'll be swallowed up quick smart.

Otherwise before a bid, I reckon a straight swap our future first for their second selection (likely to be about 11) might also be acceptable to them.

Unsure what I'd rather at this point.

I have no doubt he will begin his career in ther forward line and make an impact. I think it's that upside which has other teams thinking about taking him

With the draft likely to be a short one and teams likely to be looking to trade out picks that they're not going to use, I think picks in that range will be much cheaper than you think - might be able to get both of them for a future 2nd. I suspect that Gold Coast may have gotten a reasonable deal when they traded pick 27 for a future 3rd.

Yep. Everyone says midfield but that could also mean he becomes a rotating inside 50 midfielder... especially if the endurance is less developed for his first few years

His versatility, size and attributes and the fact we get him for a discount... is why I reckon we should match with pick 14 if we have too.

To let that go to see him become a very good player elsewhere would burn

At 193 he’s already the same height as Baldwin and only 1cm shy of Callow, a cm taller than Checkers. I’m certainly not restricting my thinking toward him being amid. As you say, if he grows another cm or 2 he’s getting into that genuine KPP height.

I'm waiting for Pie 4 Life to tell me how many good players I didn't select in my phantom 😢😢😢
I mean sure there's some on first glance, but Jake Bowey is definitely the stiffest. Could easily go Top 30. A few towards the end I don't expect to be drafted, but there's always surprises.

Height shmight. Can he read the ball flight, protect the drop zone, hit high balls hard. I rate Hine, but think he's so wrong in chasing talls from other sports, I'd put converting a mid into a KPP in the same category. Height and athleticism are pretty useless for a KPP if they can't read the ball flight. You can't tell that outside of footy. Of all the recruits from other sports has there ever been one that was a good mark.

Reef looks a pretty natural forward from highlight vids.
