The Saints have the pick, are sitting around, not talking to anyone, not even touching the laptop.

So effectively our 2021 first round for two top 30 2020 picks plus 2021 third and fourth rounders for points. Not a bad haul if we rate this draft

To walk away with 5 players effectively inside 30 (all in first round is better than I expected this to be)
And we get our prized asset royalty next year too.

I see where you're coming from, but the team clearly sees the potential for a number of top rated kids in their yr 17 that have fallen due to lack of exposure. Big risk, but potentially huge reward.

According draft pick calculator pick 24 and 30 is the equivalent of pick 10.

If players were points you erm have a point.

But the quality of player at pick 10 usually is much great then at 24 and 30. Yes im aware it will get eaten by Daicos but why couldnt u maximise the deal by aiming for better.

In the end we traded it for 27 and next years 3rd and 4th rounders.

If you said before trade week that we’d trade Treloar and Stevo but end up with 3 1st rounders and 2 seconds that was 5 picks inside 30-35 you’d probably cop it.

That trade can only be judged in the future. Hoping we go Callow and Ford.

Its a terrible trade on the surface, but could be a master-stroke if we get quality kids and get a FA next year that won't require a trade.
