I'd love them to throw a pick at Callow or Treacy, just not sure if they would. Don't know if they'd be keen on Baldwin?

I don't know much about Ginnivan, would he fill a smaller forward need? Or getting similar to McCreery?

Zavier Maher still there too if we want to bolster our mids again

I do not know anything about the player other that what was told last night etc. But I do like the intent, two key forwards, three tall mids (Sidey and Pendles) coming to the end and finally a small, fast forward who is a pressure machine.

Structure wise it addresses a lot of needs but now we just have to be patient.

pies 4 ever I think you got your answer on the draft tampering question. GWS bidding on Reef at 23 and us then immediately trading with the Giants must have raised some eyebrows... It obviously wasn’t blocked so now we just need to keep an eye out for whether we asked them to bid or not because that was all *very* favourable if you ask me

If this was the turnover we had to have, then drafting these guys gives me hope. Not athletes from other codes or countries, but young kids who’ve grown up playing the game and know how to play footy. Hooray! Regeneration.

Seems to be some good connections in there also, guys that have played some footy together.

It’s just a little bit of fun harking back to a discussion from yesterday afternoon. A hypothetical was raised about GWS bidding on Reef with their first pick and us then trading with them immediately after the bid once the garbage picks we had were exhausted. Things wound up a bit heated between me and partypie so I was pretty stoked for it to literally play out according to my assessment of things (albeit later picks) with no concerns over draft tampering. Although it does make you wonder whether there was some collusion between GWS and Collingwood...

It seems like clubs are viewing Baldwin as too much of an injury risk to guarantee him a list spot for two years, which I guess is not entirely unwarranted how innocuous the movement that popped his ACL graft back in June was.

Perhaps we target one of Kolar, Treacy or Callow in the rookie draft and invite Baldwin down to the club for pre-season to see how his knee progresses before deciding whether to add him to the rookie list or not?

Studies show that after tearing an ACL, you are 6 times more likely to tear another ACL within 2 years. If you suffer a second ACL tear of the same knee, the odds of suffering a further ACL tear increase significantly higher.

Unfortunately for Baldwin, he appears he will be one of those players "of what could have been". We have removed a lot of our chronically injured players (we cannot keep affording to pay players who can't get on the field), drafting Baldwin has the chance of ruining that good work (fair or unfair). His second ACL was very innocuous, but most subsequent ACL's are

I'm not as high as most on how our night has played out.
Gambled away our 2021 first.
Drafted one key forward who was a bit of a surprise at the selection, with Daicos next year its unlikely we will draft a highly rated one in 2021 so again our stocks will be paper thin for foreseeable future unless we pull off a trade/FA signing.
Henry seems to be the type of player that usually goes around 30, just my view could easily be misjudging his talent I will admit.
I liked the Macrae pick.
Least we got 3 first rounders in.

It makes me wonder if this is where we might use our vacant cap space to target a key forward from a rival club. There are no obvious free agency targets for key forward but we might be thinking a fat wallet to woo a target and a regular trade with their club.

Who you keen to rookie? I’d like us to try callow or Kolar. added KPP depth on rookie list. Leaves us with decent depth and options at both ends
