No idea what you mean by this. There was no slagging from my end. All I said was that it wasn’t Dave’s fault that your screen didn’t display the video properly.

The AFL blocked our future first trade so Giants bid on Reef...

He could have actually slid more.
Giants bid on Reef as we wouldn’t do the deal due to concerns that the second pick in the trade would be eaten by a bid on McInnes. Bidding allowed us to use the picks in the 40s before obtaining two earlier picks.

The alternative would be to trade with, say, Richmond for pick #20 and use it immediately, letting Reef slide further because now GWS doesn’t GAF.

Option 1: Reef and picks 24, 30

Option 2: Draftee at #20, Picks #40 and #41 with Reef still in the pool.

I don’t know who we would have taken at #20, but they would need to be a significant upgrade on Poulter, and it may have meant we wouldn’t have gotten McMahon (although McMahon wasn’t considered best available @ #31).

Hope you are right. Not sure how you can be so confident about 4 kids who haven't played footy for 12 months, misssed the development their final year of TAC cup brings and are now going to push seasoned players out immediately. We really don't know if they were all going to come on in their final TAC year. . How can they be more advanced?

They will play when they are ready, there are 18 on the list who haven't played at all or just 1 or a handful of games.
this year's draft better than last years. & I think our first 3 picks wouldve been top 13 picks last year, & Poulter top 20/25. Dont think thats exaggerating, and feel a lot of recruiters would agree.

Top 8 in this year's draft ridiculous for talent. Top 5 KPP all better than Jackson at 3 last year.

Yeah a redhead with the surname of McCreery doesn't strike me as an indigenous player.
Remember Mitch McCarthy? The redhead rookie KPF prospect? Identified as indigenous 😜

I suspect we will turn over another fairly large group of players next season. Cox, JT, Mayne, Greenwood, Cameron, Lynch etc maybe look to trade sier given we just drafted two large mids.
I think JT, Greenwood and Cox will be gone. Maybe Mayne on top of that. Cameron probably stays as does Lynch as we need more height. Sier needs to show his 2018 side, otherwise, we move him on and I think McInnes will be the better player. Not think, I know he will. Could consider moving on Roughead as well bu we do lack Key Position defenders so he gets another one year deal at the end of next season.

Roughead signed a two-year extension at the start of the year, he's at the club until the end of 2022.

i'm happy that the pies got someone genuinely tall, although i still dont understand the theory of list management. We have a couple of players who might take a contested mark in the forward line, but we have half the list who could do a job in the midfield - i know that's exaggerating a little. And this is done at a time when contested marks in the forward line are like gold nuggets. I dont understand it. I noticed that essendon definitely dont feel the same about talls. I hope we're right. I also noticed that we were going for an indigenous guy but got cut off at the pass.... I think it's pretty clear that we're not going to embrace what richmond has done with their indigenous crew. I hope we're right. I keep wondering if there were NBA teams 50 years ago who swore against drafting black guys, and where are those teams now... and finally, i've seen a lot of back slapping and i have no idea why. We might find out that none of them can play.

Am I the only one who doesn't think we've won the draft yet as we could've recruited eight players that may never be in the Collingwood side consistently?
Because the other teams drafted guys who have already won Premierships, Norm Smiths and Brownlows?

I think you might need to re-assess your thoughts on the draft process more than anything else because that’s the most pessimistic hot take I’ve read in a long time on here.
