Competitions 2020 e-AFL Season Round 11 vs North - Help pick the Demons team

Based on FootyGuy's excellent stat work, maybe Spargs for Brayshaw, Lockhart for Brown and Tomlinson and Harmes swap spots.
That sounds good, still can't believe that I can't get a game. You know, as a small forward!!

Round 4 was a narrow loss against the Bombers. Jay Lockhart was a late withdrawal with illness and was replaced in the side by Mitch Brown who kicked 3 goals and put his hand up for re selection.

Round 5 game thread up.

Well, you guys liked the first installment of how the players were doing, now for the Round 5 update. Now with more colours!

Take what you will out of this, it is interesting that the 2 interchange spots seem to having very contrasting stories.

I also said I was going to do an e426 and it shouldn't be too surprising who is wining if you look at the above graphic

P.S. Harry, you make me get worried when you put down the list changes without @'ing one of the people in charge. I've gotten too invested in this like I have iRacing and Marble Streams.

We don't get told who is simming our game unfortunately. So I wouldn't even know who to tag!

Round 7 game thread is up. A big game against Port with both teams trying to stay in touch with the 8.

After a belting from Adelaide last round we will be looking closely at the team with a suprise coming at selection table.

Team has to be named tomorrow. FootyGuy13 do you have any fresh analysis?

FootyGuy13 do you have any fresh analysis?
Do I have fresh analysis? Well, let's take a look at the chart. Though let's rationalise it. We're basically re-running the same match over and over getting different results to due to randomness of the event. The difference in each game is that we put names to the madness beforehand and treat it as if it's actually happening when what is actually happening is pure luck. With that said however...
1587038209011.png
I've highlighted positions or players that have been below what has been happening across all games. I'm not gonna highlight players that just had a good game and say "Drop them if they suck" cause we need something to reward. The right wing has been just under the median in most weeks in a weird consistency, while the first interchange spot and scored less points than the second interchange spot for the first time this season. Gawn has been underwhelming to say the least while Lever has been regressing to a point of distress. I'm watching Fritsch and Pickett, moreso Fritsch, and hoping for an improvement in scores, though at least Pickett has been scoring a goal most weeks.

As for changes that I'm looking at? I want Hore in the team, it's just difficult unless you catch a player having a bad time of it, like Lever if he gets another red. Neal-Bullen was a bit stiff to get dropped though, had he played instead of vandenBerg, that 21 would've been his had he stayed, so look out Fritsch. The only change I see this week would possibly be Tomlinson for a second ruck. The interchange spot is more ruthless when it comes to keeping the spot and I wish we had a ruckman that scored higher or maybe one that doesn't get subbed off for our current backup ruckman (Wait, it's Tomlinson, what?).

Whether it's Preuss or Jackson... ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ You're the coach.

Man, it'd be great if I was able to do this sort of thing with actual footy.

Round 8 thread is up. Will be 1 game per week for the time being to help us coaches stay more on top of things and make better quality game threads. See below.

I swear Harry, if this ends up as some kind of 2017 missing by percentage s**t I’m going to put you and Goodwin in a rocket and fire it at the sun.

Ill present myself for a lynching if that happens.

FootyGuy13 do you have any fresh analysis?
The Round 8 Fresh Analysis has been caught up on.
1587557238140.png
A few players that were either up for the chopping block or were supposed to have been playing ressies actually put together a good game against Port. Tomlinson getting that 74 off a bench spot has saved him demotion to now having calls of promotion. Unfortunately for Fritsch, had the squad that was named played, that 74 would be his and he'd be playing this week. Instead, I want him off the team and I want him off the team now. Pickett isn't far behind the 8-ball, though it's hard to defend him when the other pocket is on par with the full-forward most weeks. Lever is either well behind what other centre half-backs are doing or is doing just enough, which won't be enough if his score is red again this week (for those wondering, is a score under 34).
So what changes am I recommending? Fritsch OUT and anyone fitting to be IN whether it be Jackson, Neal-Bullen, Hore or even a Wagner. Doesn't have to be a direct swap, Tomlinson is a mixed bag of emotion with those scores as is Lockhart, it's just that Fritsch has not been firing and it's time to stop ignoring that.

And now the other side of the spectrum with the e426! To keep this post on topic I'll just post it as a spoiler, but just know that it's a close race up top.

P.S. Man, they are sticklers for those squad deadlines, aren't they. When they say "in by midnight" they MEAN "by midnight". Like public transport in theory.

Yep sure are! I was unfortunate enough to break my wrist and was in hospital instead of submitting by deadline! Sometimes it is okay to be late but depends how early they Sim the game! Will be slot more manageable with one game a week. Gives time for discussion between posting the thread and naming the team. Once again love your work.

Hope you’re okay Harry. Interesting coincidence - I had to have an x-ray for a broken wrist in the last week. Turned out to be a minor fracture (hurt like buggery when I did it). I got mine sort of punching furniture while pissed off at stuff at work, so this is largely my fault I guess.

Must have been punching the furniture hard! Had a follow up this morning and turns out to be a tricky scaphoid fracture hidden in behind the ball of my palm (whatever that muscle is) so Im being referred to an orthapaidic specialist 👎

Very frustrating since I had been doing DIY jobs on my car as a method of invoiding lock down insanity and now these will need to go on hold.

Well, One week ago I said this...
Lever is either well behind what other centre half-backs are doing or is doing just enough, which won't be enough if his score is red again this week (for those wondering, is a score under 34).
...this week, Lever did this.
1588037611490.png
Of course, it was gonna be hard once the sim decided to be rainy. Also, once again, the player that gets booted to the bench for the match has scored a green which should make prominent bench-warmer Headless happy (BTW, notice how the median score for both bench spots is higher than all 4 pocket spots).
Anyway, Lever has scored his 3rd red in 4 weeks so he's gone, Jackson in his first game has scored higher than what Fritsch did in any of his 6 while Pickett wants to be on the field again...too bad Harmes scored 5 goals. Though thanks to the rain conditions, a few players are hanging around the chopping block, namely May, vandenBerg, Langdon and Gawn. Jones isn't too far behind but those scores of 70 and 63 are still fresh in the mind while Melksham is in roughly the same boat Lever was in a week ago.
Basically, it looks like the defence needs a rearrangement either this week or the next while Langdon, vandenBerg, Harmes, Pickett and Lockhart may be playing musical chairs this week as well as Jackson and Gawn if latter stopped getting subbed off early in the game.

Look I just really want to beat the Saints this week.
Proof that Petracca cannot be dropped for any reason

P.S. if anyone get can guess why our Round 10, 12 and 15 games are special this year, you get brownie points

Trac having a blinder. Love the interchange analysis, too!

Throw Lever into the Ruck if Gawn isn't cutting it.

Welcome Back to the most Popular eAFL series in BigFooty (has not been fact-checked), where I spout out numbers in an effort to have a "media pressence".

Last Week, I Told You..
Anyway, Lever has scored his 3rd red in 4 weeks so he's gone...of course, it was gonna be hard once the sim decided to be rainy...Melksham is in roughly the same boat Lever was in a week ago...basically, it looks like the defence needs a rearrangement either this week or the next.

and This Week, I'm saying this...
1588669684170.png
A week of red followed by a week of green. Meaning, after a week where I wanted a large-scale clean-out...no one left...on purpose...and we won. Does that mean I don't want change? Well, it means I have less excuses. Jackson has continued the CHF curse we apparently have in the sim, Melksham should be worried about keeping his spot while both bench spots had a down week. And that's it...I'm just really happy that we beat the Saints.

Petracca has formed a game sized lead over everyone in the e426, I probably should been tracking which players might poll votes but I don't know how that part of the sim works.

Last Week, I Asked You
If anyone get can guess why our Round 10, 12 and 15 games are special this year, you get brownie points
And I guess no one wanted Brownies...We celebrate the 120th Anniversary of our first premiership this week. The Melbourne Redlegs faced the Fitzroy Maroons in the 1900 Grand Final after finishing 6th after the Home and Away season before going undefeated through our 3 sectional finals. After beating the Essendon Same-Olds, we were challenged by minor premiers Fitzroy and beat them 4.10 (34) to 3.12 (30) to stop their 3-peat from happening.

harry000 Can we get them to wear a jumper like what was worn in 1900?

As an aside, I looked at the stats for the saints game. In a team featuring Marshall, King and Carlisle...Seb Ross was the ruckman (and won 12 of the 28 hitouts against Gawn)? Dafuq

I suspect a simulated substitution was made. You do get weird stuff like that. For some reason it sometimes switches a wingman into the ruck.
