While I have made my opinion known that I think WA borders are unnecessarily stringent it isn't the only thing complicating the fixture and to lay the blame solely at the feet of WA, rather than the spread of a deadly virus is incredibly shortsighted and parochial.

In terms of the fixture, obviously if you change the teams that are playing at the beginning of round 9 it would have flow on consequences for the rest of the fixture as it currently stands.

This is the fixture that the AFL came up with, and I don't have any issue with it, but to say it was the only possible is a falsehood.

You write this statement like I made the original comment about Richmond not going to WA rather than the fact that I responded to someone explaining the most likely rationale as to why a club (in this case the one I support) wasn't sent to WA.

The facts are:
  • Gold Coast, Western Bulldogs, GWS & Richmond (as they play Thurs/Fri in R8) are the most likely candidates for the Wednesday night game in R9 so they can then be given another short break & play on Mon/Tues in R10.
  • As we are now half way through the fixture there's only so many combinations of games that can be played (as discussed earlier Port can't play GC a second time).
  • The Fixture that's been designed by Travis Auld is the fixture that the AFL has designed to complete the season the best way the AFL can.
  • The WA 14 day quarantine has been a difficulty faced by the AFL with the condensed schedule due to the 14-day quarantine requirements. That is why Carlton, Hawthorn, West Coast & Freo have byes in Round 10 (because they can't play between newly arrived teams & the WA teams until the 14 days) and then the same reason GWS & Sydney have a bye in R11 so they will be able to play the WA teams in Rounds 13-14.

Yet somehow within less than an hour of the fixture coming out a WC Whingers supporter goes--- "Waaa Richmond isn't going to Perf.... #VICBIAS #eastcoastbias #Let'sPostAboutThisInjusticeOnAllMyDifferentBigFootyAccounts

For someone who claims to be a university tutor you're awfully childish anytime someone provides reason behind a WC melt.

I personally have no issue one way or the other whether Richmond travel to Perth or not.

If you don't like supporters of West Coast and think they don't add value to the forum, just ignore them.

You rant and rave like a cut snake at the smallest of criticism, and generally use shaky or unfounded claims to back up your logically inconsistent arguments.

I don't care if Richmond go to WA or not, all I am saying is that it was not impossible as part of this fixture, and indeed not impossible in the next block either, if the AFL chose to proceed that way.

Psychologist FreeTK is back again--- for someone that has "no issue" with it-- why did you even respond to my post? Everytime I mention WA or the Eagles in a post I can guarantee that you'll respond, it's sad how predictable it's becoming.

All I did was suggest that maybe Richmond not going to WA (because another poster mentioned it) -- no need to go on a childish rant when you have "don't care". You may think that Richmond going to WA is a possibility within the fixture combinations, but it only takes 5 minutes of looking at the fixture to realise that Richmond was a major moving part in the short turnarounds to achieve the condensed Rounds. Sending both Richmond & the Bulldogs to WA (and having them then only 1 game in 14 days before they could play WCE or Freo) would've put more significant complications into the draw than it's worth.

If you don't like supporters of West Coast and think they don't add value to the forum, just ignore them.

...maybe you can take your own advice & ignore me-- because your repeated attempts (multiple times a week now) at you responding to my posts is childish, pathetic and often takes the thread off-topic. You have a reputation as a troll (thus why your alts keep getting suspended) & currently you're obsessed with chasing me around the main board.

Hawthorn Rounds 1-12

Home games: 3
Away games: 8

Five of the last six games have been allocated as “away games. Good scheduling by that dickhead Hocking.

Hawthorn’s last five games will ALL need to be home games whether the AFL like it or not. Adelaide and Port Adelaide won’t be the home teams for those games I know that and Hawthorn won’t be sent to Brisbane as they’ve already played them!

Once you got sent out of Victoria does it matter whether you’re named as the home or the away team? The fact that Carlton is named first when you play at Optus ... does that make any actual difference?

It does actually. Each team is supposed to have 8 or 9 home games in this shortened fixture.

Looks like the Hawks will be off to Tasmania for the last six weeks. lol

I reckon they might send us to Darwin to play Richmond and Essendon after the Dreamtime game.

I don't. I reckon the AFL will send us to Perth for the last 2 weeks (week 16 & 17) of the season before finals after the Perth teams come back from their 2nd hub stint from rounds 13 to 15.

The Perth hub will be done after Syd/GWS. Freo vs Syd and WCE vs GWS Rd 13, and then Freo vs GWS Rd 14 with Syd and WCE leaving for QLD. Won’t be able to host anymore games there with the quarantine restrictions and the need to compress the season.

Freo will have to play their last 4 games away and WCE 5, so you won’t have to head over.

Don't bet on it.

Logic would say yes, but good old Hocking will more than likely have us playing in Wuhan.
