Either you didn't listen/read the quote in its entirety or you are wilfully being disingenuous.

He was talking about work life balance. I.e. how much space to give the players outside of match reviews, meetings to discuss upcoming matches etc.

I think the challenge for teams hubbing interstate is the challenge of beating non-hub teams on their home ground, as opposed to your example of playing teams who FIFO to QLD or playing other hub teams. QLD teams are currently 7-0 against teams in a hub. It will be interesting to see how the WA teams go against the Magpies/Geelong and if Gold Coast and Brisbane continue their unbeaten run against teams currently in a hub.

Who said that I was talking about something different? The way the club went about the hub could have resulted in the way they performed i.e. how much space to give the players etc. If someone does not have much separation from work and home, then mental fatigue may set in. Therefore, WCE could have handled the hub better.

Almost certain it will be Gold Coast vs Richmond to start Rd9 on Wednesday night, they don’t have any other combinations that can play that early. Hopefully both teams have had that confirmed for them atleast.

His one job in the world at this time is the fixture, that's it. You'd think by now he'd be confident enough to produce something. Noobs sitting at home on their mums computer could have done a fixture by now, the only difference is you know he'll **** it up for some poor club.

The noobs sitting at home don’t need to run it past the competing clubs, state governments, venue managers, airlines etc etc.

There’s a lot going on with the fixture in any year. So many different parties involved - clubs, sponsors, TV networks, venues.

This year you’ve got all of that, plus the state governments, plus the players as a separate entity since the conditions that are usually written into the CBA have to be renegotiated, and all of this needs to consider that conditions will change in the future - we just don’t know what that looks like. Add in that there’s two clubs that have played one less game than all the others and there is an effort to condense the season. It’s an absolute mess. I do not envy Travis Auld’s position.

My point is the fixture is one job. Yes you have accommodation, tv deals etc, but that's the job, and all of this I am sure means more people are involved. For Auld, he's been the face of the fixture, planting his head all over the tv, it's not that hard. You have ALLLLL day and ALLLL night to work it out. Jesuss it's not that hard. It's just not that hard! If the work salary doesn't compare, give it up and move on.
