I'm hearing a lot of talk of how good Duursma, Rozee and Butters are.. but thought our guys Blakey, McInerney and Rowbum matched them - especially considering they were playing in a well beaten teamNot breaking any news by saying this, but damn how good has the 2018 draft crop been already?
Might be the next best to 2001.
They really want that second draft pickNorfs performance against the Gold Coast was as closest to #eco as I've ever seen. Witches hats in the second half.

Looking at the stats, one of the best predictors of success is marks inside 50 (goals is obviously very good as well), the one odd thing is GCS is second last, and they have a monster percentage considering their win-loss ratio.
If GCS just gets a few more marks inside 50 (which with King growing into his role is bound to happen) they are going to be one of the scariest teams around imo.
Day surely has another 4 seasons and they will pick up someone in that time , Brisbane have done it. Signing Rowell and Anderson for more years show's where their heading. Can't wait for King to resign to stick it up St ScumThey're set up for a good next decade if they can carry on retaining their young guns as they have the last couple of years. I think they just need one more tall defender of substance and another tall forward.
Rory Thompson has just done another knee, so he'd have been perfect as the 2nd tall defender next to Sam Collins and would let Charlie Ballard shift into his natural 3rd tall/interceptor role. And up forward if they can replace Sam Day in the long-term that'd be ideal. Day is a good, solid player and is perfect to partner with King while he's still so young but considering he's a week from turning 28 already, long-term is probably not the answer.

Yeah I can't remember a top 10 that has actually lived up to it's hype so instantly.
There was a lot of talk about the 'super seven' that year of Walsh, Lukosius, Rankine, King x2, Smith and Blakey, which became an eight as the year went on with Rozee the late-season bolter. Blakey's struggled a bit, but aside from him I think if you were re-doing that draft, you'd basically leave that top 10 as is, and just replace Jones (lol) and Thomas with Butters and Rowbottom.
Even some of the later picks like Hamill (30), Vandemeer (37), Ross (43) and Taylor (47) will be seen as steals in years to come IMO.
You'd replace Blakely before Thomas in the top 10.
He has red and white on his jumper, means he sucks as a draft pick and can only excel after having requested to be tradedDisagree. Blakey is a super athletic 195cm tall with class and speed. Hasn't shown much of it this year but you'd take him over Thomas every day of the week.
Disagree. Blakey is a super athletic 195cm tall with class and speed. Hasn't shown much of it this year but you'd take him over Thomas every day of the week.
Not on what both have done so far. In all reality neither probably make the top 10 re done now.
IMO the 10th spot would be between Blakey and Duursma if re-done now. Duursma shown more so far albeit in a better team, but Blakey was always gonna take more time.
Butters before both easy
Butters before both easy
I'd say it would look something like
1 - Smith
2 - Walsh
3 - Lukosius
4 - B King
5 - Butters
6 - Rowbottom
7 - M King
8 - Rozee
9 - Rankine
10 - Duursma/Blakey
Rozee & Rankine have a bit too much flash-in-the-pan potential to me but talent-wise they'd both be top 3.
Rozee way too low in fact I’d take him over Smith. Lukosis at 1
Rozee way too inconsistent at this point. Butters has overtaken him. Smith is a gun mid.
Daicos, Ridley are in the mix too imo.Todd Marshall borderline
Personally
1. Lukosis (forgive my spelling)
2. Rozee
3. Taranto
4. McGrath
5. Walsh
6. Smith
7.M.King
8.B.King
9.Butters
10.Ridley
Exactly what draft are you talking about
