I hope Richmond win the final. Can't say I hate Geelong in the Essendon and Carlton sense, but they just niggle away at me. Perhaps it's their home ground advantage, I don't know. I suppose we all have the teams we love to hate, and being overseas might put me out of step with other Saints fans, but Essendon (drug cheats) and Carlton (elitist cheats) are my personal enemies.

Just had a quick look at the finals results since the AFL implemented the pre finals bye.

6 of the 10 teams that have won straight through to the prelim have gone on the loss in the prelim.

Obviously other factors come into play but I think playing 2 games in the span of a month has to be a negative factor on performance for athletes that are used to playing on a weekly basis.

Going forward i think the pre finals bye needs to be scrapped or another change needs to be made because with the current set up it appears to actually be a disadvantage to win straight through to the prelim and get the week off.

All the old buggers whine about how shit all it is and how it was better in their day. It's depressing and flattening. As much as Eddie gives me the shits at least hypes the game not whines.

I’m not a fan of Eddie but give him his due, he knows his footy. It’s refreshing to hear him talk about our players with some insight. Bruce doesn’t have a clue and makes up crap as he goes along. Daisy has some knowledge but has to agree with Bruce, as does ‘Hodgy’. That leaves BT to gibber like an idiot.
That and failing to capture the bigger picture visually sells the game short which is a bit sad really.

Its bloody awful isnt it. AFL pushing a narrative at all times despite the fact theyre meant to be an impartial entity.

BT and him are the worst by a decent margin. Nicknames for players, obvious barracking for one side/player, no insight into the game at all except parroting whats occurring on screen. It makes games less enjoyable when they are on.

I once watched a russian stream of a game and they were significantly better then BT
