Former Norwood player and current PNU coach Jace Bode has joined the Magpies, and will play only when our SANFL game doesn’t clash with his PNU commitments

Interesting don't mind it finding ways around the sanfl bullshit rules probably a Basset lead idea.
How long until Chad bro comes out of retirement ? 🤣

So is this more than top up player #15 who might play a couple of games for Ports? Is there some sort of soft cap tax dodge component, using him in some sort of coaching role for a day or two a week?

Maybe ladhams and houston have to reciprocally play for PNU - to pay off the soft cap COVID fine they inflicted on the staff?

That would be Houston not Amon.

Rory Sloane blessed him most severely

Don't forget Jarrod Cotton who also joined the Magpies coaching group, fresh from the end of his stint as Norwood coach.

Port Adelaide
Most impactful draftee: A ready-to-go defender, Lachlan Jones went from strength to strength in the SANFL in 2020, elevating his standard of play last year during the finals. Entering the game in the second half in Port Adelaide's clash against Adelaide, Jones threw his body around and played an aggressive brand of football, laying several strong tackles. Opportunities in defence will be difficult to earn, but expect Jones to be introduced into the senior team and quickly make a position his own.

Breakout contender: Showing he is good enough to be component in defence, former first round selection Miles Bergman intercepted effectively and provided some run and long kicking out of defence. Expect Bergman to be in mix for Round 1.

Rebound season: Playing five games in 2020 for Essendon, Orazio Fantasia should be refreshed by the move back to his home state. The key with Fantasia is staying healthy. The signs demonstrated in the first half against the Crows, kicking three goals and three behinds before being subbed out of the game, suggest he will provide Port Adelaide's front half with a significant boost.

Damn! My buddy and favorite player!

Do what you must do, SPP. Get your soul straight and come back hungrier!

We all will be waiting for you with open arms as usual.

I like this approach and hopefully Kenny holds his nerve.
We could see a few surprise selections or additions throughout the year in order get the best match ups and best performances.
Keeps ‘em hungry too.

The speech coming out of Alberton has been on the money so far. Let’s see if we can match it in deeds.

Pity we didn't take this approach last yr and I know the reserves didn't have real chance to push for selection.
How we played Connor and not rest him after he was injured when we were top still makes me shake my head.

Why? Over 50% of players get managed at some point through the year. If you rested then all, you wouldn't be able to field a team.

They could have rested him to allow the foot to heal, but hiss injury was not one or two weeks, it's months! No games, no match fitness, no form.... You write him off the year. Upside is he is good to go in '21. Well guess what? They played and managed him through 2020, and he is still good to go in '21. Yes, he has an injury, but it is unrelated to last year's issue, and only manifested 3 weeks ago.

We sit in our armchairs and question these decisions, while the club has a team of highly-paid, highly-skilled professionals, in conjunction with medical specialists, making them.

I think I know who I will back.
