If we play a more attacking brand we may expose our defenders a bit more. Match ups could matter.
Agreed, if we are going to take the game on through the corridor, turnovers will happen. High risk high reward.
We need to keep an eye on out the back goals especially if defenders roll up. Frost so important due to his speed and tackling strengths.
I expect some extremely frustrating moments and some great high speed goals aswell kicked.

And then Impey comes back 🙌

In fairness this is a forum
If people think that McEvoy back is a dumb idea they are entitled to express that
That's fine, it's also fine for people to provide a rebuttal to that which is what's been happening. As long as there is some evidence to support it rather than just categorically saying something is wrong.

Stratt's kept him to 2 goals both times they played last year.

I'd be happy if he produced the same effort again.
It’s the mad panic and structure failure because Stratts can’t keep up that’s costly, not the 2 goals. Fages would be frothing if Stratts goes to Cameron.

Am i alone in thinking Poppy on Cameron? He started his Hawks career back, and if we play Hanrahan or Minch then they play pressure forward. Might be good for Poppy.
I don’t know how successful it would be but I’d love to watch that match up for a day. Especially when Poppy gets angry from chasing so much and puffs up like a peacock wishing he was 2 inches taller.

Nah. Kept him to 6 touches and 10 touches respectively last year. There wouldn't be too many players in the league, in any position, that could keep up with Cameron for pace. Stratts positioning is second to none, he eats small forwards like him.

Wonder if it is to keep an option for a ruck if things go pear shaped as we only have 3 specialist rucks on the list. Well 2 if you consider BB a CHB.
I'd say this is the most likely scenario.

Ceglar and McEvoy are the only two guys who can ruck at AFL level. Well, more than just a chop out.

Reeves isn't playing AFL any time soon.

Why would we throw a list spot at a ruck? We've got 3 on the list, and a handful of guys who are serviceable in the role. There are only a few other clubs who have 2 AFL quality rucks at the level of BB and Ceglar, let alone additional depth.

Agree.
Also, should injuries occur wouldn't be opposed to trying Houston Rockets style small ball. Put an exra ruck rover on the field who pseudo competes in the ruck circle but never jumps and then just have the extra runner on the field.
Way too much static thinking going on in our game with the need for all these specific role players.

Also all teh discussion about BigBoy to CHB. with a bit of luck we play the game in the opponents half for most of the game where would he be positioned then, and how does this differ from when he is rucking?
When the opponents are kicking out He and Ceglar would be covering a wing each probably, no matter what his designation is.

over the years Stratts has done really well on him, so I disagree

Stratts turning circle is the major concern.
Cameron is a master Eddie Betts style of doing the figure 8 and leaving his defender cooked as he turns him inside out and runs towards goal.

Stratts is slowing down. He is not the answer for Charlie.

Seriously? Eddie has brown stuff running down his leg as Stratts walks to him before the first bounce!

If stratts really was physically cooked (and can’t play on the games best smalls like he has for his whole career) as you seem to be implying I can’t imagine the club would have made him captain.

Even playing poorly last year he still was a highly effective defender - and everyone looks slow when they are out of form or in broken play when out of position (and stratts has a key role in providing support to other defenders).

Charlie is a gun - but no different to the countless players stratts has, and will continue to, beat week in week out.
