In before angry offended replies from people who can't fathom a team moving more than 2-3 positions from the previous year, even though there are huge changes every year. Anyway, here's my attempt:

1. Richmond
2. GWS Giants
3. West Coast
4. Collingwood
5. Brisbane
6. Bulldogs
7. Carlton
8. North Melbourne

9. Fremantle
10. Port Adelaide
11. Hawthorn
12. Geelong
13. Melbourne
14. Essendon
15. St Kilda
16. Sydney
17. Adelaide
18. Gold Coast
Not a bad one. I reckon Carlton will go okay but a few spots less okay and I anticipate Saints might go a bit better than you predicted. Nothing there is batshit crazy though

Going the early crow here (with trade period and the draft to come) but who doesn't love a good crystal ball prediction?

1. Richmond
2. Western Bulldogs
3. GWS
4. Collingwood
5. Hawthorn
6. West Coast
7. Brisbane
8. St Kilda
9. Port Adelaide
10. Melbourne
11. Fremantle
12. Geelong
13. Sydney
14. Carlton
15. Adelaide
16. Essendon
17. North Melbourne
18. Gold Coast

Pretty much agree with the top 8 aside from the Bulldogs being so high up and St.kilda making thing 8. We have no chance. Will be lucky to finish outside the bottom 4 again, especially since Bruce is leaving. North And Essendon will also finish higher than you have them by far. Geelong will replace St.kilda in your 8 and probably finish in the top 4 again at least.

Sydney could make a surprise finals appearance. GWS and Brisbane could switch places, depends on which team is more motivated. Wooden spoon important to Adelaide in 2020 for no 1 pick. Gold Coast to double win total next year.

why is everyone putting St.Kilda in the top 8 for? I can't understand this logic and this is coming from a Saints fan. We're not going to improve that much if at all, especially with the likes of Bruce, Jack going out the side.

Steven was pretty well useless this year so it's not a huge loss.

I don't particularly rate your recent and expected additions long term but I think all of Hannebery, Ryder, Jones and especially Hill make the Saints a better side in the short term, enough to scrape into the 8 with a 12 win side anyway.

I feel Hawthorn will rise up again to challenge a few teams with Mitchell back in the side. St Kilda a smokey to make 8th under Ratten with an inspired season. Cats I feel may drop out of the 8 with the gaps left from Kelly and Ablett. Honestly all just a hunch and there are surprises every season so anything is really plausible.

Yep. No one will even get close to getting 10 teams right, let alone 18, so I have no idea why people take offence to predictions or try to argue them when they'll be just as wrong. Geelong minor premiers, Brisbane 2nd etc.

1. West Coast (especially with Kelly. Should have NicNat back to his best)
2. Richmond (will be thereabouts)
3. Bulldogs (will keep rising, have a strong midfield, thankfully Naughton is ok)
4. Brisbane (won't catch teams by surprise but now have a solid group. CEY a handy addition)
5. Hawthorn (Hawks gonna Hawthorn, Mitchell back)
6. Carlton (the bolter)
7. Collingwood (starting to age)
8. Freo (new coach, their talls back)
9. GWS (will be scarred)
10. Port (their favourite spot)
11. Geelong (losing Kelly and aging)
12. Melbourne (will improve, it being an even year. May even be the bolter and get back to their 2018 form)
13. North (Hard to read)
14. St Kilda (rebuilding. New coach may help, losing Bruce and Steven would not)
15. Sydney (rebuilding but won't be down long)
16. Essendon (something not right. Even though he has hardly played for 2 years, Daniher would be a bad loss as they are a much better side with him playing)
17. Adelaide (lost several players, bad management still in place at time of writing)
18. Gold Coast (not much explanation required)

1/ West Coast - West Coast choking against Hawthorn in rnd 23 is the biggest sliding door moment in 2019. If they won and finished 2nd then the finals series would have been different.
2/ Richmond - Predicting we are still going to be up there on the ladder and even improve our form from last year.
3/Bulldogs - Started to look scary in the latter part of last season. If they keep that form I wouldn’t be surprised to see them top 4.
4/ GWS - Shown they have the determination to win during the finals. Great wins against Brisbane and Collingwood (won without their best 4 players). However they came undone for the GF because they hit a wall and rushed back players who were clearly not fit to play.
5/ Melbourne - My choice for the bolter. They entered the 2019 season underdone and will benefit from the 6-6-6 fixturing.
6/ Collingwood - Has Stars such as Grundy, De Goey, Pendlebury etc to get them into finals. Though there are holes in their list which need to be filled. If they had a quality tall forward in the Prelim they would have played in the GF this year.
7/ Brisbane - They benefited from the 6-6-6 fixture last year, but I think they are still a quality side. They have held their own and even defeated quality sides during the H&A season.

As I went, I realised that this really is a total guess. Who'd ever write off Sydney? Carlton could do anything. Collingwood could finish way higher or lower. West Coast can be unbeatable or can melt for no reason. Same for Tigers and GWS. How hard is the fixture going to be for each team? What difference will a new coach make at Freo?

. 7th to 11th will really be anybody's guess

. St Kilda will probably stay the same next season in my opinion

. Adelaide will completely fall apart

. Western Bulldogs have potential to make the top 4 if all goes right.

. I could easily see North Melbourne pushing further up

. Reckon with luck of no injuries and a new gameplan Fremantle will either just make or just miss the 8.

I wonder if Richmond will go after anyone in the trade period? Not sure what they need.
We need a FB imo! We have standards though so must be atleast an AA capt id say.

Probably need an indigenous x-factor type player who can lay a good bump and has some tricks.

And a FF who can do a preseason would go down swell too. 😁

There’s plenty of reasons we might go backwards, a hangover is probably the least likely of all to occur however
