I agree but the thought of tipping against us in one of the early winnable games was even too pessimistic for me.
Apart from me laughing at your comment, we’re pretty much on the same page.
I see a North loss as acceptable and part of the “learning curve”.
Barring injury and offsetting this loss,I see us causing some serious problems later in the year once players, management and game plan begin to gel.
I’m actually tipping a 2020 similar to Brisbane’s 2018.

Results are in for Round 1. Richmond smashed the hapless Blues 10-0, and West Coast destroyed Melbourne by the same margin in the Perth heat. The big surprise were last years losing grand finalists who made short shrift of the Cats winning 10 votes to nil. St Kilda rounds out the top four with a resounding 9-1 bashing of North Melbourne. Adelaide and Essendon launched 2020 in style winning 8-2 and Gold Coast showing great signs won their first game 7-3. The Western Bulldogs round out the top 8 with a 6-4 surprise win over Collingwood. Hawthorn also announced itself as no easy beat with a hard fought 6-4 win over last years top 4 finisher Brisbane.

So the Ladder at the end of Round 1 is:

1573806774867.png

Round 2 is shaping up to be a ball tearer. A rampaging Richmond taking on the stuttering Pies. Geelong will be determined to bounce back against a humming Gold Coast side. Sydney, Fremantle and Brisbane will all be hoping that their first games on home decks returns a 4 point dividend. The two Adelaide teams meet in an early season derby. The Saints will test their newfound mettle against the Eagles at home. Melbourne and Carlton both face uphill battles against big winners from Round 1.

Get your votes in, and tell your mates to play. Non-St Kilda supporters are also welcome here. Don't be bashful, lest Clint Jones set you on fire!

I voted Geelong :)

Whoops missed week one so I’ll jump onto week 2 .
Collingwood
Sydney
GWS
Bulldogs
Brisbane
Port
Cats
Saints
Hawks

Saints in a boil over , winning by 35 points . Battle kicks 4 from CHF in a best on ground display . Marshall and Ryder dominate the ruck after big Nik Nat unfortunately did his knee again the week before . Hill repays the Saints to star for the second week in a row . With Membrey and Battle plus the resting ruckman up forward young Max King still cant break into the seniors even though he is dominating for Sandy .
Down back Carlisle was surprisingly matched up on Kennedy and held him goalless for one of the few times in his career . The defence of Carlisle, Howard , Robbo , Webster , Wilkie and Geary was was too strong for the Weagles .

Some very tightly voted games across the 2nd round suggest we're expecting it to be another even season in 2020. Richmond just edged the Pies 5-4, Essendon pipped Sydney by the same margin. Both Perth based teams also won 5-4 with West Coast consigning the Saints to their first loss, and the Dockers too strong for the Hawks at home. A resounding wins to GWS means they rocket to the top of the table. The Doggies just quietly slip into the top four with another good win. The Bombers have surprised everyone with their start and are still unbeaten for the year. Port rack up their first premiership points for the year, along with Brisbane. The hapless Blues and Melbourne are both shaping as wooden spoon favourites after only polling a single vote between them.

The 3rd round doesn't get any easier for the Saints as Dan Butler shapes up against his old team mates at Marvel. Ed Langdon triggers social media with a series of tweets promising to unleash the fury upon the Dockers as Melbourne desperately works to kick start it's season at home. Jack Newnes and the Blues have promised to come out harder up against the bombers, after the Blues new coach was heard remarking season starts are definitely harder than season finishes. West Coast meanwhile are preparing to try and hand Geelong their second loss for the season and keep them confined to the bottom eight. And in the match of the round the the Doggies face off against GWS seeking vengeance for the shellacking dished out in last years final campaign.

Will North register a vote? Is Adelaide at home strong enough to hold out the pro-Brisbane voters? Can Clarkson hoodwink Buckley again and steal the points. All remains to be seen.
