Bennell is best 22 if fit, if you don't have him on your bench you're wrong.

As much as I think Mitch is a handy pickup and nice depth piece for us, geez he's being overrated after a few cheap goals today.

Hey Dee Fans!

I'm not sure where this post should go - mods please feel free to move it accordingly.

We're doing a series looking at the analytics of every team in the comp. It's good to step out of our Carlton bubble for a bit and see where we need to be to catch the sides above us.

Enjoy,

Dan

Best of luck for 2020

And here is the Melbourne BigFooty Board's pre-2020 Beast 22 team:
FB: Neville Jetta | Steven May | Marty Hore
HB: Michael Hibberd | Jake Lever | Christian Salem
C: Ed Langdon | Jack Viney (vc) | James Harmes
HF: Christian Petracca | Jake Melksham | Bayley Fritsch
FF: Kysaiah Pickett | Tom McDonald | Sam Weideman
R: Max Gawn (c) | Clayton Oliver | Angus Brayshaw
INT: Aaron vandenBerg | Nathan Jones | Adam Tomlinson | Mitch Brown

E: Luke Jackson | Jayden Hunt | Harley Bennell | Jay Lockhart

IN FROM 2019: Ed Langdon, Marty Hore, Kysaiah Pickett, Adam Tomlinson, Mitch Brown
OUT FROM 2019: Jordan Lewis, Oscar McDonald, Alex Neal-Bullen, Kade Kolojashnij, Charlie Spargo
So what's the take away here? Well, 4 players that we got in the off-season have already gotten a spot inside the Best 22 with another 2 newbies being apart of the extended squad, though there isn't a big gap between Bench and Extended. Brayshaw being the 2nd most voted midfielder means that he won't be named on this wing, I learned that being the best Def/Mid player doesn't mean they go into the CHB position and that I keep forgetting that KK was considered Best 22 last time round.
Let us look forward to a favourable 2020.

Thanks Dan for putting that together. You obviously do a fair bit of work with the research and so forth. You get extra points for a cool accent.

I think your round one predicted team might be a bit off, in particular I’m a bit curious as to why you seem to be playing Harrison Petty in place of Steven May? Don’t get me wrong, I’ve got some time for Harrison but I think May might be a bit of a pricey investment just to play in the seconds.

Thank you for your feedback, at the time of production may was a doubt. But easily would replace him.

Hahahhahaha it's hours of research but good fun, and it's nice to learn to appreciate the other teams and get out of the carlton bubble. After being here for 10 years it looks like I'm stuck with my accent.

Enjoy your year!

Ironically, while May was, and still is in a little bit of doubt, Petty hasn't trained at all since the christmas break, so most definitely wouldn't be the replacement.

Sorry to intrude but confused as to why so many of you have put Petracca in your best 22? Based on last years output he was lucky to get a game.
Tracc came fifth in our B&F. Hardly likely to be dropped.

Also, did you happen to see his performance in the first Marsh game?

That's a laughable question even before his performance last week. Perhaps think about watching him in a game or two rather than just going off stats and SuperCoach score.
