Pagan's talk to young players is something that immediately popped up in my head after reading about today's cull of 11 players. Some of which were stiff.

About 1.45 in, he says something really important about AFL...

"AFL will just pick you up, chew you up, and spit you out and not even think a thing about it."

It's such an important point because it's the reality of AFL footy. Players often forget that if clubs have to make a tough decision for a rebuild at a premiership, they will.

That's why Pagan talks about effort being more important than ability. You can have all the talent in the world but if you don't show up on game day then that upside becomes a waste. Blokes like Jmac are the perfect example to Pagan's point about honest 6-7/10 players playing 150-200 games. They always put in the effort week in, week out and they are respected for it.

Re the angst against Tyson, I seem to recall jed Anderson being a bust after his first 2 seasons at North. Turned it around in the 3rd and earned a new contract. Give the bloke a chance to show if there's anything left in the tank. We're paying him either way.

Yeah he's on the list, let's just hope we don't need him on the field. If Cunners is fit I'd imagine he won't get a game

Yeah we have and us North fans will need a neck brace as we ping the ball up the ground. 12 youngsters all showing something, us North fans should be up and about, my mind boggles when I consider what our round 1 team will look like.

Maybe unpopular but I agree on Turner. Garner also fortunate. I would have kept Pittard and Daw. But It's the bigger picture that counts. It's Shaw's and Rawlings time now. With our talented under 23's, we'll be back.

Sadly hall and Tyson are under contract , baffled at how Tyson got more than a one year deal...should be told he will not get a game anyway...

Let's not re-write history.

Tyson had played 17 games in 2018 (including Melbourne's elimination, semi and prelim finals), 19 in 2017, 21 in 2016, 15 in 2015 and 22 in 2014. That's pretty durable, and he averaged 20+ disposals every year he was at Melbourne. And he was 25, which is right in the sweet spot.

It hasn't worked out, mostly due to injury, but at the time a three year deal made sense.

Yeah pretty sure we showed some interest previously, and I expect will again. Seems the type Bevo would love to work with.

Shouldn't weigh into the decision, but our club does a ton of work with African kids in the western suburbs, so the bonus of recruiting Majak is how much he can get involved in those programs. I wouldn't mind if we did grab him as a DFA as I still feel he has something to offer. Probably just been around too long at the Roos and you guys need to move on a lot of those guys in their mid to late 20s

Knowing our luck we will probably rookie Atley brother to the club.
Garner should buy a Tatts ticket and thank god his going to be staying and Hall and Tyson should buy one each for cam Joyce for giving them a 3 year deal other wise they would be gone
