So, let me get this right, we aren't getting any real help for Crippa on the inside ?
Williams doesn't really count as a full time ball winner.
What help does Cripps need on the inside? Walsh will play more minutes in the guts, we have Setterfield and Kennedy.

Midfield rotations ...

Inside (1 per stoppage)
Cripps
Setterfield
Curnow
Kennedy

In/Out (1-2 per stoppage)
Williams
Walsh
Martin
Dow
Kemp
Gibbons
Stocker

Outside (1 per stoppage)
SPS
Fisher
Cuningham
Murphy
Philp
O'Brien
Fogarty?

If we can't develop and select a winning mix of rotations with this lot, we are in trouble.

Setterfield? ECurnow is there.

Cripps is Cripps and doesn't want to be 'spared'
He had a poor year by his standard, as he wasn't right, but he's the captain and wants to play the role he's best suited to.

Setterfeil will get stronger and better and then we have that missing link; Stocker.
Maybe he's not ready given fitness base, but as Brodie called him on the 2018 draft night - He's a brute.

Thinking about this years draft and the overflow of academy prospects and how that will affect the draft order.

Using Cal Twomey's rankings (just as a quick guide ) for where bids come:

Jamarra Ugle-Hagan (Bid @ 1) - 3000 points. Discount sets it to 2400

WB's 14, 41, 54 (total 1813 points)

Dogs absolutely need more value in this years draft.

Braeden Campbell (Bid @ 6) - 1751 points. Discount sets it to 1401

Syd's 25, 58, 62 (Total: 1049)

Sydney needs more points as well

Alex Davies (Bid @ 14) - 1161 points. Discount sets it to 929

GC's 27, 76 ( Total: 703)

GC also need picks

Errol Gulden ( Bid @ 22) - 845 points. Discount sets it to 676

Syd's 25, 58, 62 (Total: 1049)

Sydney is either going to lose these prospects or needs to trade in picks

I reckon all of these clubs go hard to trade into the 2nd/3rd round
Sydney will get something for aliir aliir.

Fogarty is starting to give me Darcy Lang vibes swuzzlebubble. Injury prone and Geelong fans don't seem too worried about his impending departure.

If we take him, he'll have to find a way to break into our midfield too. Not convinced he'll be able to do this.
Fogarty is definitely a better bet than the last two plodders we've sent you. Hasn't really been injured this season I don't think. You're right that he needs to play midfield though, he's not a forward and that's why he hasn't played much. He's also pretty one-paced so I feel like Carlton is a slightly odd fit. But he's a decent prospect and I'd prefer to keep him.

no doubt no doubt

Unlikely bluemahogany.

They're also suggesting that we're winning the flag by giving up pick 18 next year. Sounds like a bit of fun and games to stir the pot.

Remember when we played Norf and they put Polec on Crippa in the first quarter and Crippa destroyed them. They then moved Polec to the wing and he got 2 votes in the Brownlow, same game. Anyway, Norf are open to trading him if someone takes on a portion of the 600-700 he is owed. Would be a decent addition on the left wing and kicks long goals. No, he doesn’t defend that much, but is a great link man which we need to break these 5-10 goal runs against us.

OK my question in the bluemour thread disappeared amongst bombs going off etc

So you list management experts can help me out.

What if Saad doesn't nominate for the ND or the PSD, when does he become delisted?

EFC would have to submit its final list on the 14th, if Saad is not on it is he regarded as a DFA?

What needs to happen for him to be selected as our pre-season supplementary selection?

If that happens, he only becomes delisted if * decide. Otherwise, he would have to nominate for both or at the very least the PSD

Weird situation were you aren't paying someone, yet stopping you are stopping them being employed by another party.

Interesting I thought restraining the ability of an employee to make a living after their tenure expires was illegal? The system is a house of cards.

* did put an offer in front of Saad though, which was rejected.

Ultimately Saad will head to one of the drafts

I guess it is similar to the Martin scenario

Great post, would put Fogarty in the In/Out category though, reminds me a bit of Dow in terms of he either gets the ball first, runs, and hands it to someone else, or he's the first outlet when Cripps etc. get it and he's free to just charge towards F50.

Bradley Hill is a 3 x premiership player Jorge. He was recruited by St Kilda to help drive training standards.

He's a been there done that player, so he knows exactly what it takes to go to the promise land.

Saad doesn't have the same credentials as Hill.
I'd have said that (of the two players) Saad is the one I'd want. Hill looks very much like a been there done that player, ergo he's content if not to rest on his laurels to play his career to an acceptable standard, comfortable in what he's achieved. Saad on the other hand has a deep sense of dissatisfaction about him; he wants to win, to succeed, to be there and to be the difference in a big final. He's unsatisfied.

If he was like Hill, he'd have been content to remain at Essendon, happy to bank his check and to rank in their BNF and potentially pocket an AA nom every other year. Individual achievement would be enough for him, because he's already had that team victory and he doesn't need any more. Saad is not like that; he feels like Richmond in 2017, with their entire list having the entire AFL world looking at them and expecting Richmondy to come back and for them to trip over their own feet at the last hurdle.

They were vicious, they were deeply committed, and profoundly unsatisfied.

Obviously the more midfield depth, both inside and outside, the better, but the concept of Cripps needing inside help is a myth.

Carlton 2020 statistics:

Clearances - 5th
Contested possessions - 5th
Inside 50s - 4th
Tackling - 4th

Where we are severely lacking is disposal efficiency, winning disposal, and uncontested possessions. See below:

DE - 18th
Disposals - 17th
Effective disposals - 18th
Uncontested possessions - 17th

Obviously Teague's game-style of moving it quickly and driving it long and direct plays a part as well, but if we can tidy up our outside play and ball use, we are looking good. Cripps, Curnow, and Setterfield is enough inside IMO. Walsh and Williams on the outside is a good start, but we need 2-3 others to step up in this department.
