If we're taking a chance on players rather it at least be from successful clubs. Even then, we struggle to develop our own let alone thinking we can do so with DFAs. We need quality now, not depth.

You're being over the top here with Durdin, Daw and Wood.
Daw would probably fail a medical, but if remotely fit is an athletic KPD we could probably sign via the supplementary period if we need him. Durdin might be one to look at for the other end of the ground, and Wood is an interesting 3rd forward under the right circumstances, but unlikely.
I'm more interested in Ahern and Murphy anyway, as well as if we could shake Hayden and Anderson from North.

AA small defender.
EDIT: was never AA, my bad. But did a lot of the link work up the ground, great gut runner.

If we let go of Macreadie and took on Durdin, I don't think we're right in the head.
Even Goddard shows more. Durdin is invisible.

The CFC have no time for 'let's try and make something out of the guy that couldn't make it elsewhere' We're not that good and have enough on our plate.

I know Carlton supporters love to bitch and moan but the recent agitating about Teague is totally unwarranted and quite frankly pretty concerning.

The SOS camp seem to be not-so-quietly barracking for some kind of gloating, "I told you so" situation to play out...

Really had enough of this viewpoint. It's a tough process, getting all your ducks in a row to win an AFL flag.

How frustrated would this supporter group be with a team like GWS? Absolutely stacked to the eyeballs with talent yet going nowhere. Or Melbourne? Prelim finalists, now back in the pack. *?

Can we not appreciate that Teague took over a 1-11 side and has done some pretty good things? You'd think now might be the time to show some unity and back the coach in, he's doing a decent job with a list that still has a lot of holes.

I agree with you regarding Macreadie, and again, I'm talking about Durdin as a forward/ruck prospect.

IIRC, I liked him as a defensive prospect, but that's never panned out.

I don't recall seeing much of him in his draft year but for what I've seen of him, in the reserves or seniors....it's all slow motion.

We do need KPD's though and I still think we'll see one pop up somewhere via this trade period....No Keiran Collins types though

David Teague to have the team hovering around 9th to 12th again next season.
I'm not seeing enough improvement to raise expectations of sneaking into the 8 in 2021.
Keeping Betts suggests Carlton are happy with how they are travelling with only minor changes to come.

Summary: 2021 season - more of the same

Clubs must know what the list numbers will be next year. Pretty big cuts at North.

I'd say we won't be too far away

Was thinking this too.
They’re not even 24 hours after their last game and they’ve announced delistings, and 11 of them!
That’s surely a lot, regardless of list reductions.
They must know.

I don't think there's any significant connection between North's announcement today and potential list reductions.

They are starting a rebuild and they have done the right thing regardless of whether or not lists are reduced at the end of this season.

Carlton did similarly at the start of their rebuild.

Rory Atkins is an upgrade on LOB, but he doesn't displace Newnes from the team, so not worth throwing money at him, IMO.

There's merit in going after Jed Anderson as an Ed Curnow replacement. Marley Williams is the type of player that we would look at, but I dont know if he is any good (who watches North?)

He hasn't really ever been overly reliant on his pace. His game has been based on pressure, touch and smarts.

Pace has a role to play of course but I don't see his game suffering too much for a lack of it.

Yes. I absolutely think he can play a part in a successful 2021 season for the football club.
Why he keep falling over and fumbling this year -- this what concerns me -- he signed for another year so we have to get used to it but I not oooze confidence in our forward line with gov and Eddie passengers

Thank God you're here and we don't have to bother playing next year.
We are so lucky to have all knowing supporters like you.

There would be more on their list like polec, Ben Brown etc that they will probably let go but hoping to get something for. They might make15 - 16 changes.

Simpson's retirement has all but guaranteed that SPS is now a permanent part of the defensive unit. The only way that's changing is if we get both Williams and Witherden.
Other than us talking about witherden has anyone heard any hard evidence carlton even interested 😀
