Dumb decision but not surprised. Game has passed him now and even more so in 6 months time.

Having said that, will kick more goals than anyone else we play next year. But will take away a year of development in said player.

Yeah that's probably how I would feel. Love him to the end of the earth but he lost his touch below his knees a couple years ago which was always his strength.

Fair enough though, if there's no one making that spot theirs then it makes more sense.

If North offered their first round pick (1 or 2) for Harry, you would have to think about it.

Surely not clubs are dying for key talls and we have 2 guys who are barely 23 and have just played around 50 games.
When the midfield gets better Harry Charlie get even better.
The hardest thing to do is build the spine with quality talls.

Yep these are my thoughts too.

Spine then mids is what SOS built

We went the other way in 2006-8 building an elite midfield in Judd/Murph/Gibbs/Stevens but then scrambled to fill the spine positions with Jamison (gun) and a bunch of nothings. Heck we were so clueless we tried to fix out KPP hole in 2010 by drafting watson amongst 4 other kpps, none of whom lasted more than a cojple of seasons

A gun mid like Walsh can become a gun in 2-3 seasons. We can see this happening in Setters and I think we'll see a jump from someone like Fisher/SPS soon enough.

But even a rolled gold prospect like weitering took 4-5 years.

If (when) BSilvagni and O'Dwyer get de-listed - How can anyone be surprised?
That came as mates and will leave as mates and in the two years on the list showed very little to suggest we have something worth keeping.

BSilvagni always looked to me as though he didn't have his heart in the game....hence the Nathan Ablett comparison....albeit without the skill-set.

Forget Owies. Finds goals but can't construct them.

Unpopular opinion for this board but Zac Williams is not a 700k-800k player and just because he’s a free agent doesn’t mean we should sell the farm to get him, he’s a good kick but apart from that he is extremely overrated he has average speed doesn’t have the fitness to play full time midfield and is maybe a 10-15% upgrade on Newman as a hbf, It would be horrible list management to make him our 2nd or 3rd highest paid player let north over pay for him.

Spot on mate. I thought he was horrible last night. He is an okay HBF, and an injury prone one at that. Will never make it as a mid. Saad a much better defender, although will cost in draft picks.

3rd in the team for average goals.
1st in the team for average goal assists.

Didn't he take a 20% clip?

List cuts could hit hard on player development, as there's likely to be little team cohesion playing whatever the reserves may look like.
Not a great time to be loading up with young players....I feel.

Perryman again in the best players on a miserable night for GWS. Out of contract. Miles ahead of, for example, Newnes. Does a lot of things well that we need. Only Port linked to him. Would come in on lower dollars than Williams with much more upside as he’s only 21. (I get he’s a different type of player, but prefer his goals, GAs, I50s). No idea why we aren’t showing interest.

With a lot of delistings to come etc I think it's worth remembering we don't see everything at the club that's happening...how much players give a sh*t or listen to coaches in training etc, strange decisions may not be so strange if we knew these things

I just can't see us cutting up the contract of a kid that's only been in the system for one year. Terrible look.

The other rookie that may be ousted is Phillips. I like what he has to offer, but the club may see him as a project too far away.

Honey has genuine AFL quality traits and is very much what we need. Polson doesn't have one trait you can back, other than commitment. Good trait...but...
