I suspect we will want two national draft picks which means another senior delisting - or movement to the rookie list.
Options are:

38 senior list/4 Cat A/up to 2 Cat B
Delist one of Polson/Kennedy/Macreadie
Add pick 38
Add one Cat B

38 senior list/4 Cat A/up to 2 Cat B
Delist two of Polson/Kennedy/Macreadie
Add picks 38, 48
Add one Cat B

38 senior list/4 Cat A/up to 2 Cat B
Delist one of Polson/Kennedy/Macreadie
Move one of Polson/Kennedy/Macreadie to Cat A rookie list
Add picks 38, 48
Delist one Cat A (Moore/Phillips)
Add one Cat B

This factors Gibbons already being upgraded and Owies being allowed to stay on Cat B list. I suspect we are going with option 3.
Right, thats what i thought.. but can we just move one player from senior list to rookie? or we need to delist him and then pick up in rookie draft?

Yeah, I'd go with cut Polson, Kennedy, Moore.
Perhaps re-rookie Kennedy.

Previously you had to delist, and then pick them up in the rookie draft. Who knows what will happen with the current AFL makey-uppy rules?

Looking to the draft now.. please draft a small forward Austin.

.....or the best KPD if they're right for us.
Either will be fine. Just no 'development' players. Keep Phillips instead.

My favoured outcome now would be to take two players at the ND and just forget the rookie draft altogether.

Nah, don’t think cutting Kennedy is practical, especially with Charlie being unavailable for 1st half of season. Definitely re - rookie if absolutely neccessary.

EFC will be taking the best delisted big bodied available, so hoping we keep Kennedy given that they and hawks chased him as well in 2017.

I still have some hope for him, if he can get a clean run at it with Jack Russell's guidance.

IMO I think we should definitely look to pick up a mature age small forward in the supplementary draft or similar. We have a few recent draftees who may end up filling that role in the next few years, but we are clearly now set up to start a run towards finals, and the small forward spot is still one we lack firepower in. It's probably our only significant weakness in structure.

Just caught up with the Fogarty interview.
It was the small pressure forward role that was sold to him, which is perfectly reasonable.

So in all, we got exactly the three types we claimed we would look at, back in August.
For me at least, that's very comforting (for lack of a better term)
It means we know what we want and know how to get it, to the best of availability or creating that opportunity.

That's a recipe for success to me. I know it sounds easy but even in recent years, and how good SOS was, some of the pick-ups were a little bewildering.

Saad and Williams are certain starters next year and even at this stage, I'd give Fogarty at least a 50/50 chance,

Gold Coast have 2 academy kids predicted to go inside of the top 20.

They could use some extra points.
Currently have pick 27 = 703 points.

We could offer 38 and 48 = 767 points

Helps them land the prospects and we get into the top 30. Take our 1 senior listed pick (Polsons spot) and then 1 in the rookie draft (Moores spot)

Fogarty with a full pre season and clean bill of health. Definitely starts rd 1 off the bench. Kid can play just needs his body to co operate.🤞

Fogarty is not a pure small forward, club acknowledges this, hence the statement about playing through mid rotations

Versatility, as it should be

Fogarty seems to be a type that could even play in the backline, if required.
Seems to have a good football IQ, is always busy and has plenty of grunt.

Polson, Moore & owies gone. #notgoodenough

Fact? Seems right but no need to move on Owies, if we rate him. Can stay another year n the Cat B

GC can just pre-list them, no picks needed.:(

Mature age KPD would be a bonus, just dont see one at the moment, perhaps that may come about via delisting. Otherwise, Brand or Callow are of interest

A couple of mature age small forwards at lower levels, both with AFL bloodlines, could appeal

Would consider Mallard as a ruck option
maybe McDonald after the expensive salary package has been purged by his delisting. From Melbourne?

Previously if they went through the ND and PSD undrafted, they'd be automatically rookies if the paperwork is done.

Same is true for Father-Son (cat A) and Academy (cat B) players.

That's what Eddie's there for, we should look to young talent at the draft to renew at the role. There's also DFAs that we could rookie or sign.

Already have plenty of make-shift forwards, no point getting another aging one that will also be makeshift given the talent level on offer in the remaining free agency periods.
