If he's contracted and someone else wants him, they have to satisfy us in a trade. If it's a competitor, we could make him sit out a year if we're not happy.

I get that, I just don't think it'd play out that way in reality. The club has made it clear he's never coming back to us, and we have a recent history of facilitating trades in good faith. He's effectively uncontracted in my mind.

If Rance retires with two years left on his contract and then wants to go somewhere else, good faith is out the window.
