NFL 2020 NFL - Week 3

Anthony Lynn commiting to Tyrod coz he gives the chargers "the best chance to win" is absolutely comical after Herbert's debut.
Apparently the Chargers don't want Tyrol to lose the number 1 job because of injury

Giants agreed to terms with RB Devonta Freeman, formerly of the Falcons.
NFL Network's Mike Garafolo reports that, provided Freeman passes his COVID-19 test and physical, he will be a Giant. Playing tough to get all offseason after being released by the Falcons, 28-year-old Freeman has finally found the right opportunity. Conditioning will be an issue early on, but he should immediately jump to the front of the line in the Giants' committee. Dion Lewis will be the No. 2, with Wayne Gallman being an afterthought. Lewis is probably still the preferred Week 3 play, with Freeman taking over afterward. A three-down player, Freeman provided consistently diminishing returns as injuries seemed to take their toll in Atlanta. It would not be surprising if he maxed out as more of a FLEX than RB2 in New York, especially considering how bad most Giants game scripts will be.

The NFL is handing out $600,000 in fines for improper mask usage in Monday night's game between the Raiders and Saints.

Jon Gruden and Sean Payton join Vic Fangio, Pete Carroll and Kyle Shanahan in getting their teams/themselves fined. This has to be particularly galling for Gruden and Payton, who have both already endured COVID-19, but the league is dead serious about avoiding any MLB-style disasters as it plays out its 2020 season under the most fraught of circumstances. We would expect every coaching staff to have fallen in line by Week 3.

$1.6 million in fines in a week is a really good WHS and preventative measure by the league.
Next step - greedy owners abolish mask rules.

Maybe it comes down to Lynn being a simpleton. Tyrod win vs bengals = good. Herbert loss vs Chiefs = bad.

Would have been loving life if my claim on Dion Lewis went thru on Empire last night instead of Schultz.

Posted it in the Jets thread but worth posting here all for the lols

If this doesn't describe Adam Gase nothing does...

Frank Gore broke the record for the oldest player to have 20 carries or more in a single game.

In a blow out loss, Gase ran the ball more with Gore than he does Bell. The pettiness. Gore is one of his guys you see. Give him all the carries he can. Bell isn't. Smh.

Maybe Gase needs to accept that he is better off as a coordinator too.

Seems to never get along with 'Stars' at the HC level so they'll either leave or under perform. Nothing trademark on the field that suggests 'That's why you keep Gase'

I watched the excellent 30 for 30 episode, The Two Bills again the other night. Talk about a sliding door moments, had Leon Hess not passed away when he did we may well have seen the Patriots dynasty in NY.

It comes down to ego, everyone said Johnson was an idiot for hiring Gase at the time, he so wants to prove everyone wrong.

If he hadn't got his buddy Douglas in to be Jets GM I'm convinced hed already be out the door if someone else was in charge.

Defensive mastermind Matt Patricia to give up b2b 40 burgers.
Only after we give up ANOTHER double digit lead.

*Lions become first team in NFL history to lose 4 consecutive games after holding double digit lead 👏🏼👏🏼
