Seems like Dixon to me, white line fever on the field but decent blokes off of it. Lynch never seemed like a flog when playing for the Suns either.
I was watching the WCE Crows game in Cairns last year (which we should have won), and this big bloke came up and sat with me for a bit. His mates were trying to sneak a photo of him next to his guernsey on the wall. We chatted for a few minutes, seemed like a good guy. Was smashing beers while in recovery for whatever injury he had

The word choke is used way to often, and not in the correct context IMO. They won their first final, and were valiantly defeated by 6pts in their second final, in a game that was close all night, and they even had the first 2 goals kicked against them.

It's not like they were undefeated all year and went out in straight sets, nor were they 5 goals in front tonight. Removed your Port hatred and you will see that it wasn't a choke at all.

They will be amongst the major contenders again next year, sorry to disappoint you.
Geelong should have beaten them in the 1st final if Hawkin had kicked 3-4 goals instead of 6 points and Richmond should have beaten them by 3-4 goals instead of 6 behinds, noting that both Geelong and Richmond have been in hubs for months and haven't played in front of that kind of crowd ever this year.

Looks like Port is having their "2017 Camp" tonight.

Reminds me of when they booed tex after the Phil walsh game

yep.. geelong kick straight in that first final and ports would've been odds on to go out in straight sets..

but dont bother talking sense to the bloke ABAB.. he’s far too busy taking the moral high ground over us all to listen to common sense..

going the entire season on top of the ladder and then not make the granny is a ****ing epic choke..

I love how people's hatred completely clouds their judgement to be able to make an unbiased opinion.

They were 'hyped up' because they finished top, much like we were in 2017.
Charlie wasn't great tonight, but it wasn't a night for key forwards. He didn't kick the second highest amount of goals for the year by accident. Yes he's overrated by many, but 'rubbish' is OTT.
Gray has had an ordinary year by his standards but is (maybe was) a superstar.
Jonas has had an awesome year and is a great leader, part of the reason for their success this year.

I bet you are more relieved that they didn't make the GF rather than gloating in the knowledge that you 'knew' they wouldn't
Difference being we made the Grand Final in a normal season so we were never "hyped" and started 2018 as one of the premiership contenders....Port Power had everything going for them this year with the teams they played at the right time and virtually no injuries all season in a short season and having to play the least number of games of short break and were still 4th favourite (they hyped themself).

Dixon has white line fever off the field too

Clearly that poster doesn't know everything went Port Powers way this season*, even the supporters on their forum have acknowledged this and that making the Grand Final was the bare minimal and since the Grand Final was to be played in Brisbane, they could understand if they had loss the Grand Final so total choke for them not even to make the Grand Final.

Port defended Hawkins very cleverly. Did you notice how most of his shots were from tight angles?

Are you referring to the same Richmond and Geelong teams that play regularly in front of huge crowds every week? Have they suddenly forgotten how to play in front of a crowd?

Port were also in a hub early in the year and managed to win games.

Each to their own opinion, but IMO the definition of a 'choke' is losing the unlosable, or snatching defeat from the jaws of victory. Refer to Jean Van De Velde on the 72nd hole of the British Open.

I'm not so sure Port have had an easy draw this year. They have played plenty of away games, without looking at the records. And all teams that finish top have a good run with injuries.

Teams don't finish top by having a good draw. Teams finish top by playing consistent football over a long period, not by fluking it.

No, Hawkins missed some easy shots as well. Yes all teams had to play in hubs this season* but they played West Coast at the right time while in that hub, however, not all teams played the same amount of games off shorter breaks which will affect them more in a short season, this probably why Port Power managed to have an unprecedent lack of injuries this season*.

Nah. Somebody else on the forum posted how they got very lucky with the uneven breaks. You can't judge it purely on the fixture because of covid.

Why do you care?

Because I'm sick of the same old arguments in the footy world.

If you lose, you choked, and you're salty, and you blame the umpires.

Why can't people take of their one eyed glasses and understand that it is possible to be beaten by a better team on the day?

Why when our team loses is it always because we played poorly, never because the opposition played better?

Surely you can see when there is a good player on an opposition team, even if you do hate them.

I guess I'm just over the Port v Crows arguments over EVERYTHING. Do people not realise there are 17 opposition teams and not just one?

Imagine if they had worn their prison bar jumper.

yep.. they played 11 opponents that were coming off short breaks between games.. more than any other team..

People are just having some fun at Port's expense. Let people enjoy the moment instead of obsessing over semantics.

Well it wasn't the normal long season was it, Richmond had their fair share of injuries, hence how Port Power played them at the right time and beat them at the final quarter with Richmond coming off a 3 day break. Brisbane lost their best defender with hamstring injuries, West Coast had their fair share of injuries as did Geelong to key players. This isn't about the draw but the compromised on the run schedule were the AFL played their "festival of footy" so some teams had a massive benefit from not having to play off short breaks.....BTW, the Crows got the worst and GWS was also around the bottom which would have definitely affected them making the finals.
