Very quick game. Love how they look to play on immediately and don't stop and look behind... Both teams. Also when a player takes the mark they're really aggressive to man the mark.

If Port does win the premiership this year does it validate their decision to stick with Hinkley for so many average years?

We have sacked him years ago.

Look at Clarkson's record at the Hawks we'd likely have sacked him before he got his first Grand Final and even if not I don't know that he survives the 2 years out of finals after their first premiership.

Not that the senior coach isn't important but I think we over rate what they can do by themselves.

Keep everything the same and then work our way through inexperienced head coaches every 2 or 3 years expecting them to have the answer and an immediate impact.

I don't know if Nick's is it but we're not going to find out in season 1 or 2, I'm kind of happy this year isn't working out because it doesn't validate the idea that everything else is ok, we just need a new senior coach to put it all together.

Plenty of change required, let's see if we have the nerve to put it all together.

(Note... Port have resumed their usual mid season form since I started typing this)

Imagine if they somehow manage to “win” it this year... In some bizarre way, it is actually going to be hilarious. He will be set for life there

I think what must really grate them is that even if things turn to crap late season (as per the last few years), this early season resurgence plus the coronavirus disruption etc etc has all but assured Kern 2021. Its really good to see

I’d actually wager he isn’t even doing the coaching. Schofield, Bassett and Montgomery are where it is at. Be a shame if they can’t keep them all due to budget constraints now...

It is an argument that depends on how you look at Crows roster of that time frame (2016-2018) and how you project their presence would have altered 2019-2020 and going forward.

Not saying surfer boy ain’t any good—he is. I just think he brings elements to a club atmosphere that don’t elevate a team in the manner it should from a guy with his abilities.

Yeah good points. Wasn't invalidating your point, differing views make the world go round. I just think Danger gives more week in week out. He rarely goes missing. Charlie's best is outstanding, but his worst is invisible. At worst Danger will be ineffective but he'll still be getting his hands on the ball. Really no wrong answers though.

It’s charity day today here in WA. Fremantle been granted the home team status for the only derby of the season (despite it being WCE’s turn to host). All funds going straight to keep that pathetic “club” afloat. They might need to get the tins rattling as well

Gosh it must be a great feeling to have such a weak and inferior enemy like Freo. I remember I got carded on their forum when I suggested their first flag may take places in the 2030s.
