Good result. The last thing we want is Gold Coast being too successful if we want to lure Rankine home one day.

But wtf was that bullshit the umpire said when Ranks went the Stevie J kick? "You can't move that way off the mark"? We've been watching that done for years...

Nah we want them to do well because it makes the priority pick they received at the end of last season all the more hilarious.

I would rather Collingwood come after Rowell and we come after Rankine and the whole artificial charade comes crashing down.

Possibly a bit nihilistic but there you go.

He still might be ok when he’s 33 ...or not. Just like Greenwood might be ok still hacking a kick out of a pack when he’s 32.
That's the most annoying thing about all the Greenwood talk. We knew he was good, we wanted to keep him. We just (finally and correctly) decided to protect ourselves with a shorter commitment when he wanted to protect himself with a longer one.

Every week he plays well the nuffies pop out of their holes "Lol Adelaide dumb, let Greenwood go." Let's revisit at the end of 2022 and see if it was still the right decision. The Gibbs trade looked like a win in the first year too.

It’s just compounded by how bad Matt Crouch has become

There is no way we'll ever win the Greenwood trade because all we got in return is a third round and fourth round pick

That would just be our drafting team compensating for a sh*t deal at the trade table
Except that they take into consideration which players they may be able to select with the picks on offer, when considering whether or not to accept the deal.

You always will get a better chance of selecting the players you want with a better pick

I'd be ropable if the Crows paid more than a 3rd rounder for a 28 year old good average player. What was Greenwood supposed to be worth - a second rounder?

The Greenwood trade is not the sort of trade that clubs "win", it's just a transaction in balancing the books, if you like.

Have the Crows had any FA compo? Did Hendo bring in a 3rd rounder or something?

I've long said FA compo shouldn't exist but **** the AFL if they finally change it when we are actually in a position to benefit from the crooked formula

Henderson was delisted and picked up by the Hawks as a DFA.

Our former SANFL Ruckman/Rookie Paul Hunter suiting up for South Adelaide after being set to play for Williamstown in the VFL this season after the VFL season was cancelled. Joining him will be another former Western Jets running back/outside mid Daly Andrews who was all set to suit up for Williamstown as well before the VFL season was cancelled. Both crossed over the border last week and currently serving there quarantine isolation.
Always hoped we might have had a look at Daly Andrews as a top rookie prospect with his top end speed and very, very penetrating kick, definitely a metres gained type of player similar to Brodie Smith in style. Would not be at all surprised if the exposure at SANFL level sees AFL recruiters sniffing around Daly again.

AFL Media: Mark Ricciuto was out of line disclosing players' salaries. That is personal information that should not be public.

Also AFL Media:

I look forward to BT, Kingy, Caro and so on slamming this piece for being "unfair" and "out of line" as well.

I don't understand why Gold Coast would have paid more?
