Only a 50% exaggeration. Ned had 8 disposals and 2 in the second half. Very poor match again i thought.

I wouldn't mind him doing his niggle and pest stuff if he was contributing a bit more offensively to back it up but he struggles to get 10 touches and I believe has not scored a goal yet.

Ned still managed 12 touches and was involved a lot more in the game than he has been. We have also craved a bit more mongrel from our players and are now complaining when it actually happens?

What's the big deal with targeting players on the field?

If you are fit to play, you're fit to play. Everything is fair game. If you're too sore to wear a few whacks off the ball, don't play. Simple.

The only exception is targeting a player who is coming off the field injured

A few pushes and bumps off the ball are fine. Punching an opponent repeatedly as you target a part of their body they recently injured is pathetic and unnecessary. Hurt people in the contest, not 100m away from it.

If it's all fair game, where does it stop?

Is punching an opponents recently broken hand OK?

How about knocking the outside of the knee of someone who has just come back from an ACL?

Is there a line somewhere?

And seriously, 100 pick 52.....we are comparing a mid and late first rounder in a weak draft to an early 2nd and mid 3rd rounder in a strong draft here.

Strengths of drafts aren’t even a thing for years after they occur, so you can leave that out of any equation you make up.

What we did wasn't actually in the rules, not that it bothers me, if the umps aren't policing it, then do it until they do whilst there's advantage in doing so. Those interactions were clearly illegal shepherds.

Because once again you are going down the net result route.
There’s a reason why Carlton wanted 2 first rounders included and not a string of seconds instead.
