A lot like Lever in that he looked hot shit when other people took the best 2-3 defenders (or forwards for Lever). Once they're accountable it's not so easy.

Carlton fans are bloody arrogant for a team that has more wooden spoons than finals appearances over the last 2 decades. Heck, with the number of high draft picks they have in that side, sitting mid table isn’t anything to write home about either. Teague is a better coach than Bolton but heck they aren’t exactly tearing the competition apart either.

Richmond were terrible for 20 years too but actually have two flags to back up their arrogance now.

He can toll up the 4th best tall defender and is struggling as he has to take the best 2nd or 3rd tall defender at Carlton but is that worth $800K per season......

I think it will take a while to genuinely be able to attract some decent players here.

At least until the list smooths out and starts showing some promise on the field. A clean out of board and administration, with an ability to show a decent change in culture. Plus, a move to a decent new facility. Attracting a decent coaching panel is probably the first step.
