Prediction 2020 number changes - revealed - 5/12

Does anybody get a promotion? What do the new players get? Given we're currently looking at a 45 player list the numbers open between 1 and 45 are:

12
20
23
24
31
34
39
41

Given Phillips was 34 at both GWS and Carlton I half suspect he'll get that again. McQuillan or McBride may well get 41, and I'm half expecting one to go 46. Cutler, maybe the 24? Does someone like Guelfi get a promotion? Or Ham?

McKenna might be due a promotion?

But not sure if anything suits him more than 45.
Last year would have been a good year for his promotion with 9, 15, 20, 22 all open so I think he'll just stay put. Maybe the first 100 game player in 45. 45 is one of 5 numbers we haven't had a player play 100 games in (of the common ones) along with 36, 37, 41 and surprisingly 44

The number 20 jumper has been cursed for awhile now, only 2 players in our history have played over 100 games with that jumper, think it may be destined for Cutler as I wouldn’t want a kid drafted into that number haha

The notion of 'promotion' is played out in my opinion. It's meaningless. The player should simply focus on being their best regardless of the number which, because of the stigma of a list of names on the locker, plays to ego. If they play well they'll own the number and make it synonymous with themselves.
Numbers 42 and 43 know what time it is.

I’ll have a stab

12 Redman
20 Guelfi
23 Clarke
24 Cutler
31 draft pick
34 Phillips
39 draft pick
41 draft pick

Without any promotions we currently have:

12, 20, 23, 24, 28, 31, 34, 36, 39, 41, 46

Available. I do think there will be a few number changes, will have a stab at:

12: Mason Redman
20: Jacob Townsend
23: Mitchell Hibberd
24: Harrison Jones
27: Nick Bryan
28: Tom Cutler
31: Cian McBride
34: Andrew Phillips
36: Ned Cahill
39: Lachlan Johnson
41: Ross McQuillan

26 and 27 are taken, and so its either 23 or 24 then

Depends on whether 'a locker away' means next to or one between
Maybe Redman got promoted too?
