He already has his media gig at Fox lined up. Didnt expect him to last this long after leaving the Bears.

Xavien Howard's bond was set at $3,000 during an appearance in Broward County Court Monday morning.
He's being held on a domestic battery charge stemming from an alleged incident with his fiancé Sunday night in Davie, Florida. Howard, who waived his right to a public defender at Monday's hearing, is barred from contacting his fiancé under conditions of his bond agreement. It's a serious allegation and even if Howard avoids legal consequences, he'd still be subject to a possible suspension in accordance with the league's personal conduct and domestic violence policies.

Speaking Monday, Eli Manning confirmed he is considering retirement and said he would be unlikely to return in 2020 as a backup.
Since the soon-to-be 39-year-old is not going to draw starting interest after years of steady decline in his play, the writing is on the wall. An official announcement could come soon. There is little incentive for Manning to drag his decision out until free agency.

Quincy Enunwa revealed Monday that he has been diagnosed with spinal stenosis.
It's not automatically a career-ending issue, but it is a complicating factor for a player who made just one 2019 appearance. Enunwa has dealt with two neck issues in three years. He also revealed Monday that he has not spoken with coach Adam Gase since tweeting about Gase's fines for "missing" treatment. 27-year-old Enunwa is signed through 2021 in New York, but there is a strong chance he will end up elsewhere if cleared to continue his career.

Speaking Monday, 35-year-old Alex Smith said he "without a doubt" wants to continue his playing career.
Our last update on Smith was an October dispatch that he has undergone at least 17 surgeries on his broken right leg. Smith has not played since his horrific Nov. 2018 injury. Even if Smith manages to complete his comeback, it will not be with the Redskins despite Dwayne Haskins' shaky rookie year. The 'Skins are embarking on a long-overdue complete rebuild. If Smith is serious about playing in 2020, some sort of restructure followed by his trade/release will be in order, as cutting him would currently leave behind $32.2 million in dead money.

ESPN's Cameron Wolfe reports Dolphins CB Xavien Howard was arrested on charges of domestic battery stemming from an alleged incident with his fiancé Sunday night in Davie, Florida.
According to Barry Jackson of the Miami Herald, who had access to the police report, Howard was arguing with his fiancé over the purchase of an "undisclosed" purse, which led to a physical altercation in the bathroom of their home. Howard allegedly grabbed his fiancée's arm, causing her to fall on his crutches, which were on the bathroom floor. The Dolphins have yet to comment on the incident, though Howard could be at risk of a suspension under the league's domestic and personal conduct policies. Any league-imposed punishment would be in addition to whatever legal ramifications might stem from the alleged battery. An All-Pro selection last year, Howard's 2019 was largely derailed by injuries.

Bills LB Lorenzo Alexander confirmed he plans to retire after 2019.
Alexander was given a standing ovation Sunday in what figures to be his final game in Buffalo. The Bills also surprised him by having his daughter Zoie sing the national anthem before their loss to the Jets. "It was a decision I made before the season," said the 36-year-old, who acknowledged that 2019 will indeed be his final lap around the track after a successful 13-year NFL stint. "My mind hasn’t even processed transition yet, so I’m still in this thing 100 percent." The two-time Pro Bowler totaled 55 tackles, two sacks and one forced fumble in 16 appearances including seven starts for the playoff-bound Bills this season.

Eric Weddle acknowledged his playing career may be over.
Weddle sees the Rams moving forward with up-and-comers Josh Johnson and Taylor Rapp at safety and has no plans to return as a backup. The 34-year-old also acknowledged he'll require offseason surgery after playing through knee and shoulder injuries in 2019. "Nothing is set in stone, but I've had a great run," said the six-time Pro Bowler. "No regrets, baby." 2019 marked Weddle's first—and perhaps only—season as a Ram following a three-year run in Baltimore. The 2007 second-rounder ranks eighth among active players with 29 career interceptions.

Colts LT Anthony Castonzo is considering retirement.
A free agent to be, Castonzo said he will only consider re-signing with the Colts or hanging up his cleats. Castonzo said he needed to "mull his options for a little bit before coming to a decision." Going on 32, Castonzo bounced back from an injury-shortened 2018 (11 games) to man the blindside for all 16 games this season, once again performing as one of the league's better left tackles. He would be another massive loss for a franchise that just lost its quarterback in August.

Cam is not a FA mate.

Part of me wants to see Rivers in a Panthers uniform tho for one year as a placeholder. Even tho every sign points to him being done as any sort of half decent QB.

Feel sad for Greg, can tell it means a lot to him. Would love to see him get a shot with a contender for one more year but he's racked up a lot of injuries the past few years. Not sure if any teams would take the chance.

You can Add Teddy Bridgewater to that list. Saints cap is tight unless Brees calls it quits, but Brees is out of contract too.
and Taysom Hill, Case Keenum.

Eli Manning if he still thinks he can go and someone still thinks he can play a few weeks before a rook takes over.
Question marks on Jameis and Marriota.

There's also a quote out there about Gurley's contract having been reward for what he'd done under his rookie contract, and not necessarily about what he'd do in the future

They're not all going to find new situations. There's been such an influx of young QBs who are really good (Mahomes, Jackson, Wentz) and enough that are ok, or at least guys that teams will persist with (Winston, Goff, Allen, Trubisky, Jones, Haskins); there aren't a whole lot of spots for reliable old vets once the Bengals draft Burrows and the Dolphins draft Tua/Herbert/Fromm.

The Colts are probably the only team that go balls out for an experienced QB - and even that's only if they don't fall in love with one of the guys the Dolphins don't draft. Chargers, Raiders IF they can cut bait with Carr (which is a big if) and maybe the Broncos could be in that boat too.

Not a great time to be Eli, Rivers, Dalton or a Mariota looking for a new team. If circumstances line up and Newton ends up on the market I don't even see him commanding big dollars. I think of that lot, Newton's best chance is staying in Carolina, and Rivers could potentially start in Indy, but I don't see the others even being in a supposed pre-season shoot out for a starting job.

Mariota is still very young and not as bad as people make him out to be. In a new environment, offensive system, i think he'll flourish and be the get of the year for a qb needy team.

It'll just ve very interesting to see what happens to all those vet qbs. and alex smith coming back too. and eli manning still has a little juice too.
