I'm all for us jumping in and helping Carlton lesson *'s trade leverage.

If * want to play tough, we can pounce.

I wouldn't be picking sides just yet, getting in bed with Essendon is not desirable (not that the Blues are much better) but there is certainly room for us to get involved, play both parties and come out with an improved pick situation.

What someone should have put to Lloyd is which of the cut players would say Essendon or any other club pick up and play in their best 22?

<crickets>

Seriously, Williams, Pittard and MacMillan would get a game in their side now.

Ol mate Nick was a fully blown #standbyhird nuffie, back in the day.
Still is.
Saad has pretty much given the reason for his trade request and the very least had the balls to make it go public where as Daniher and all 200cm of him has failed to make a statement once about why he wants out. What’s he afraid of?

The mutual press release logically tells me that a deal has already been worked out & Dodo is now just playing to the mob, whilst Carlton sit back quietly.

They shouldn't, I guess that is the general thrust of it. I think if Macmillan was a lot younger, he would have stayed, I thought he was defending a lot better this year than he had in previous years but yeah, he was still making too many defensive errors. That is the problem with Williams and Pittard as well. Williams is a crazy good competitive beast on the smaller forwards, but he undoes his work by creating sloppy scoring opportunities for the opposition.

We had a season in the slip n slide of Queensland where the average number of goals kicked was 10.4 for Geelong down to 6.8 for Crows, the average was 8ish and we had a side that put is anywhere from 3-5 goals down before the game started because our defense leaked so many goals.

We just aren't that good a side that can carry that kind of handicap.

Just have to hope * are into Brown and whatever Carlton give up heads our way.

It makes sense though, doesn't it?

The press release seemed a little too organized for me.

All parties knew of this as of last night.
Then * went public first with it and got the first word into Tom Morris about him not being coachable and now they’ll seek maximum compensation - all to save face.
I still don’t think a trade is as clear cut otherwise we would have had a decision sooner.
As of Saturday he was committed to *.

I can't see clubs lining up for him. I can see Dow choosing North. And I can see Carlton accepting a deal if he wants out. He's didn't get gametime in 2020, with Williams and Saad he's less likely to get gametime in 2021. Surely it's possible for a late 2nd/early 3rd rounder...

Do you think Dow will make it long term?
