Meanwhile veteran journalist Damian Barrett believes Kangaroos star Todd Goldstein remains gettable, as the club enters a rebuild phase.

“I wouldn’t rule out (Todd) Goldstein from North Melbourne either,” he said.

“I know he’s contracted, he signed a contract last year but so did Shaun Higgins at the very same time and he’s looking elsewhere.

“If you’re saying ruckmen are the prime candidates this trade period, you’d be mad not to pick up the phone.”

Damo is that one bloke that would say one thing to your family and friends. Of which is likeable and cool, then do the complete opposite behind everyone's back.

He is such a vulture to us.

Yeah great, top 10 pick or f*** off

I don't think we need a mentor for shaw. We've come this far, let's go with it. If it becomes a complete balls up, we just get an experienced coach for 2022 and a fresh young playing group. When does Simmo's contract come up?

Chocco Williams would be a good mentor too

He's coaching at Werribee at the moment and he's been awesome for the club. I have a couple of mates that play and are involved there and they speak really well of him and what he's doing.

Unfortunately, I think he's been blacklisted by a lot of AFL clubs due his lack of political correctness and potential to be erratic.

Agreed. You don't hire a bloke to then have to pay someone to tell him how to do his job.

He showed he can coach good footy last year. It's on him to try and make that happen again.

This mentor talk.....he's the full-time coach of the North Melbourne Football Club. Let him run with it. He has one more year on his contract. He is either up to it, or he is not.

Rhyce would want to be careful who the mentor is. If it's anyone who is a proven coach who would still have senior coaching aspirations, then a bloke in the last year of his contract at a club who will start the year as spoon favourites probably wouldn't want him around.
