Creepy Joe nominating Brisbane is great for Brown's trade value. Ignore the absolutely laughable ignorance of pretty much everyone other than North fans on this. Facts are facts. BB was drafted 1 year later than JD, is only 1 year older, and on virtually every measure that counts is equal or better than JD. Durable, proven, elite. Brady and all other clubs know this, so rest assured we won't be settling for a 2nd round pick or a 1st round pick with heavy sweeteners elsewhere. With Joe wanting out even the Dodo will play nicely if he wants in on BB.

Why are we getting rid of this guy again?

The team who ditches players they don't require, or the team whose required players walk out on them. I know who I'd be more concerned about Lloydy
This news makes me want to watch FC next week, just to see the Velvet Pillow eat his words. Nth culled the list, for * the rats are leaving the ship (sinking ship that is!!)

Our performances this year mean we weren’t first preference.
Perception is everything and we’re a team at rock bottom and Carlton is on the up. Getting Williams made Carlton more lucrative for Saad.

I doubt it mate, but ultimately I am not certain.

I don know that we weren't going to throw up the trade deal that Carlton will facilitate, and Saad wanted an assurance that he could freewheel off half back rather than play hard tags. Teague gave him that assurance.

I don't want to nit pick, but you have posted their totals and BBB has obviously played more games.

It's a fairly irrelevant comparison, post their averages.

Boomer would kick Gary Ablett Jnr's ass in a likewise comparison.

Its marginal.

They're still very comparative.

Its marginal.

Joe gets it 2 more times and Ben kicks more goals.

Essendon are likely getting overs because of the FA situation, we will get under because Brown isn't a FA and we've shown him the door.

It's just the reality of the current system.

I've seen it explained many times but I still don't get it. Apparently it's something to do with trying to make a point to his wife's manager, coupled with him being the only player on our list with the currency to possibly net us an early second rounder. Or something...

Why would Brisbane/anyone trade? He's an FA.

Sydney offered 2 firsts last year, however Joe was contracted.

I have posted this before.

the attempted trade last year is the template.

Brown + 2021 second for 2020 first + 2021 first

Whoever gets a 60 goal a year forward and a second rounder in a deep draft and we get somewhere in the realm of a fair trade.

The most surprising stat there is that BBB took a bounce!

I didn't mean trade, I meant they will get overs via the FA compensation.

They will get pick #7 for Danniher and I doubt anyone would have offered that at the trade table if he wasn't a free agent.

Especially seeing as he's nominated Brisbane, the best they could of got were 2 x picks in the 20's for him.

Likewise, if Brown was a FA, we very well might have snagged pick #3 for him in compensation.

Just a shit situation all-round.

He's valiantly trying to divert attention away from his nose diving Bombers by putting the slipper into us, I expect the Croc's to ramp up their assault on us given the most recent news out of Essendon Fields.

Sorry to be pedantic.

Essendon Fields is Essendon Airport. Tullamarine or Melrose Drive would be a more accurate location for The Hangar

As you were...

I wouldn't be surprised if Brown's management has to eat humble pie and return to Nth because they couldn't score a better deal than what is currently on the table. Tells me Brady knows the exact value of each player, hence the offloading that had to be done.

Problem is that there ain't anything left on the table!

It’s why Higgins is free to seek a trade to a contender. We aren’t in the window to be challenging and Saad knew this.
Difference is one player is 33 and the other is 26. He could still see success by the time he’s 30 but if you had to hedge to your bets you’d take Carlton, even though we all know they’ll get nowhere because it’s what Carlton do.

How many times do i need to explain this? I was trying to get away from mother. The goats just happened along by accident.

(And apologies to those who have no idea what we're talking about.)
For anyone that googles 'Tiberius and goats' I'd suggest you don't want to read the results while you are eating...

Higgo is not so much about looking for a "contender" mate, he want's to be allowed play the football that best promotes his skill set, so that he isgiven a fighting chance to extend his contract at the end of 2021. North can't assure him that.

He wants to stay at North though mate, don't lose sight of that. If North either get him back playing the role that promotes his value as a player, or extend him by one year in the event he has to compromise his value, then he won't even look at anyone else.

Take these points on as facts mate. I trust my source 100%.
