I would be astounded if Ben Brown is at the club next year.

There's more chance of Josh Kelly being at North in 2021 than Brown imo.

The only way he could stay is if no other clubs want him or if they are offering penuts like 3rd rounders. If doesn't return with tail between his legs, we should just low ball him and set the tone. We need ensure our salary structure is prudent, responsible and realistic. We shouldn't throw out carlton like money in the pursuit of rising up the ladder. If we draft properly and develop the players properly, it should easily take us to top 6, if can develop a few superstars, then top 4 is a cakewalk. Only then should be throw the big bucks for big name for a flag and finally, chucking the kitchen sink after winning a flag or two and want to get the last hurrah.

There's an easy solution to that - keep Ben and f*** off his cretin of a manager.

Also it can work as a face saving gesture from us in that we don't want to trade him for penuts so we can 'welcome' him back to the fold a significantly discounted price of 2 x 500k detail and highly recommend him to ditch the manager. This way, we keep a decent forward who has the potential to kick 50 goals a season and also use him as an example for the rest not to try bitting more they can chew.

While it may never be known what some club will offer Ben to join them ,if it is reasonable North should offer him the same as a goodwill jesture to keep him at the club but othing over 3 years. It will then be up to Ben to decide what to do, with the new deal to remain between him and the club.
